What is Advanced Term Registration (ATR)?

Advanced Term Registration (ATR) provides students who were enrolled in the preceding fall or spring semesters the opportunity to register for the upcoming Summer and Fall terms during the Summer registration cycle. Check the Academic Calendar for dates.
What is the difference between ATR and fall registration?

There are two opportunities for students to register for fall term classes – ATR and regular fall registration. ATR provides students continuing from the preceding fall or spring semester the opportunity to register for both the upcoming summer and fall terms during the summer registration cycle. Regular fall registration begins in late July for students who were either not eligible for ATR or who were eligible but didn't take the opportunity to register during ATR.
What if I miss ATR, but want to take classes in the fall term?

Regular fall registration will re-open in late July. Please see the Academic Calendar for specific dates.
How do I know if I’m eligible for ATR?

If you were enrolled as a degree-seeking student in either the preceding fall term or the spring term and have not been academically suspended, you will be eligible for ATR. A couple exceptions exist: State Employee Waivers may not be applied to courses registered for during ATR. International students will be permitted to register for both terms, but they must comply with the International Insurance Agreement to avoid being dropped from classes prior to the start of the Fall term. I was admitted for summer term. Am I eligible for ATR?

No. ATR eligibility is based on the student being enrolled at UNF during the preceding fall or spring semesters. Students who start at UNF in the summer term will have the opportunity to register during regular fall term registration in late July.
Can senior citizens waiver and other non-degree seeking students register during ATR?

No. Students using a senior citizen waiver, a State Employee Waiver, transient students, and/or non-degree seeking students are not eligible for ATR. These students will register on a space-available basis. That day has been defined as the last business day before the start of the fall term.
If I am eligible for advance term registration, does that mean that I can register for any fall term course?
Not necessarily. The registration system will check your eligibility to register for courses in programs with specific entrance requirements, such as:
- Education
- Graphic Arts & Multimedia
- Music
- Nursing
- Athletic Training
- Some end-of-program courses
You must have met the prerequisite requirements and any other rules placed on the course by the department before you can register for a particular course. Questions regarding these courses should be directed to your academic advisor.
If I am not eligible for advanced term registration, when will I register for fall classes?

Fall registration will re-open in late July. State Waiver, Senior Citizen, Non-Degree, and Transient registration is the last business day prior to the first day of the semester. Please see the Academic Calendar for specific dates.
If I want to take the summer off, can I still register early for fall?

Yes. ATR does not require registration for summer term, but if you are eligible for advanced term registration, you are strongly encouraged to register for fall term during the ATR cycle.
Can I change my fall schedule throughout the summer?

No. Once summer registration has ended, students will not be able to adjust their fall schedule until the regular fall registration cycle begins. View the Academic Calendar.
Will I receive a fall appointment if I have already registered for fall?

Yes. Modifications to the Fall schedule may occur over the summer months. During regular fall registration you may wish to add, change, or drop courses from your schedule. You will be able to change your schedule from the day and time of your regular fall appointment through the end of add/drop.
Can I be dropped from a fall course if I do not successfully complete the prerequisite?

If you receive a D or F, or withdraw from the prerequisite course during the summer, you may be dropped from the fall class at the discretion of the department.
How will I know if I am dropped from a fall class?

If you have been dropped, the course will no longer appear on your schedule confirmation. Check your schedule confirmation before fall registration ends to confirm your schedule.
If I enroll in a prerequisite course at another institution during the summer, can I advance register for the course requiring the prerequisite?

At the discretion of the department offering the fall class, you might be able to advance register for the course. At a minimum, the department will require a completed concurrent enrollment form and proof of enrollment in the prerequisite course (via schedule confirmation or fee slip from the other institution). Proof of satisfactory completion of the prerequisite will be required to remain in the fall course.
Will the Web Schedule list classes for both terms?

Yes. Course offerings for both terms will be on the web.

Note: There may be modifications to the fall schedule during the period when registration is closed. Check the course schedule in late July for the most up-to-date listing of courses.
Will there be any changes to the fall schedule during the summer?

Yes. You can access the course schedule online or by visiting the myWings portal. Check the web beginning the third week of July for the most up-to-date listing of courses.
How do I access advanced term registration?

To access summer or fall registration during ATR, log in to the myWings portal. If you have not accessed the portal before, select "Need help logging in?" for login instructions. After logging in, select the Student tab, and then click "Student Self Service" in the My Records channel.
Do I have to pay for both terms at the same time?

No. Summer term charges are due according to the summer payment deadline. Fall term charges are due according to the fall term payment deadline. Fall term charges will not be available during ATR and will be added to your account in late July.
Can I pay for both terms at the same time?

No. Fees for fall term will not be available until late July. Check your fee assessment on-line after the third week of July.
Will I be able to advance register for spring term during regular fall term registration?

No. Advanced term registration is intended to help currents students set their Fall schedules before leaving campus for the summer. Spring and summer terms will not be available for early registration.
