Message from the Director

It is almost impossible to believe how much our current Enrollment Services processes have changed over the 18 years that I have been at UNF. Gone are the thousands of paper student files that had to be passed from office to office and ultimately were stored and checked out from a large Records file room. Also missing now are the long lines of students who used to have to wait in queues that sometimes wrapped around the building to get help with some of their basic processes, such as registration and financial aid in our three main Enrollment Services Offices: Admissions Office, Financial Aid Office, and the Registrar’s Office.

 In 2005, our Office of Enrollment Services Processing opened its doors along with One Stop, as a new initiative designed to allow us to help our UNF students handle their enrollment paperwork in a more efficient and timely manner. What originally was the Financial Aid Office, the processing part of the Admissions Office, and the Registrar’s Office all blended into a single, more flexible Processing environment where staff members were crossed trained to handle multiple student document processes, allowing us to help students more quickly, especially during peak processing times.

In addition, our continued efforts to improve our processes within the office through technology have led to the virtually paperless environment we work in today. These technological advances have not only improved our efficiency, but also considerably shortened the wait time for students - whether they are waiting for a transcript, an admissions decision, a financial aid award, their term grades, or their graduation diploma. Our office routinely processes hundreds of thousands of student documents each year to help our students with their university business. While we recognize that many of those students will probably never know our names, we are nonetheless proud of the vital role we play in helping our students from the time they apply until they graduate from UNF.
