Scholarships for Transfer Students

A few things to keep in mind when applying for a UNF Transfer Scholarship:

 

  • Many scholarships are only available to students beginning in the Summer or Fall terms.
  • Applicants must be an incoming transfer student; current UNF students are not eligible to apply.
  • Scholarship application decisions will be released no later than mid-July and scholarships are awarded beginning in the Fall term of each year.
  • Students must submit a scholarship application, which is available through myWings.  In order to submit a scholarship application, you must have a completed admissions application on file.  If you have just submitted your admissions application, you will normally be able to submit a scholarship application on the following business day, but it might take up to three business days for your account to be created.  Click here for a step-by-step tutorial for submitting your scholarship application.   
  • Each Transfer scholarship has its own deadline.  

 

Tip: Because funds are limited, students are encouraged to submit their FAFSA by March 1st.

 

The scholarship qualifications listed below reflect anticipated standards and award values for the 2013 year. Minimum qualifications and award amounts are subject to change.  

 

Transfer Student Scholarships

Miyuki and Herbert Scheidel FSCJ Transfer Scholarship
  • Recipient of the Florida State College of Jacksonville (FSCJ) Scheidel Scholarship in good standing
  • Associates of Arts degree from FSCJ
  • Must live on campus
  • Demonstrated commitment to community service
  • Complete FAFSA & Demonstrate Need

 

$10,000

($5,000/year x 2 years)
  • Deadlines:
    • Fall: March 15th
    • Spring: Sept 1st
    • Summer: Feb 1st

UNF Alumni Association Transfer Scholarship
  • Transfer to UNF after earning an Associates of Arts degree from a state of Florida 2-year college
  • Transfer GPA of 3.5
  • Complete FASFA & demonstrate need
  • Fill out specific UAATS application

 

 $2,000 ($1,000/year for 2 years)
  • Priority Deadline: March 1st

  • Not available to students who are beginning in the Spring term.
Florida 2-Year College Transfer Scholarship
  • Scholarships are available to eligible applicants with an AA degree from any of the 28 public community colleges or state colleges in Florida. Awarding is competitive and based on academic merit and/or financial need, leadership positions community activities, and availability of funds. Eligibility does not guarantee an award.

$4,000 ($2,000/year for 2 years)

 

Renewal is contingent upon the student meeting specified scholarship requirements.

2+2 College Transfer Scholarships
  • Available for graduates from:
    • Lake City Community College
    • Miami Dade College
    • St. Johns River State College
    • Pensacola Junior College
    • Valencia Community College
  • Applicants must be nominated by the College. Completed application includes: scholarship application, nomination letter, and one letter of recommendation.  Letters must be sent directly from the college to UNF Scholarship Coordinator. 

 

$4,000 ($2,000/year for two years)

 

Renewal is contingent upon the student meeting specified scholarship requirements
  • Deadline: May 1st

  • Not available to students who are beginning in the Spring term.
  • Application available through your myWings account.
Minority Community College Transfer Scholarship
  • A competitive program available for qualified minority college transfer students (FL residents) on the basis of financial need and/or merit and other select criteria.

 

$1,600 ($800/semester)

 

Scholarship can be renewed after the first year, but students must submit a new application to be considered for renewal. Maximum of 3 years of funding.
