The following college preparatory academic units in high school are required for incoming freshmen at UNF:
- Four units of English (at least three including a substantial amount of writing)
- Four units of math (Algebra 1 or higher)
- Three units of natural sciences (at least two with laboratories)
- Three units of social sciences
- Two units of the same foreign language
- Two units of academic electives
UNF recalculates the high school grade point average based on college/university bound academic courses, and additional weight to grades earned in Honors, Advanced Placement, dual enrollment, ACE, and International Baccalaureate courses.
