Applicants who are not U.S. citizens or are not permanent residents of the U.S. are considered for admissions on the same basis as citizens or permanent residents. However, because of the different processing requirements and time/distance issues (especially for mail), applications and other materials for admission should be submitted as early as possible. Be aware that most U.S. students apply for university entrance typically a year in advance of their anticipated starting dates. International students must adhere to a different application deadline in ensure processing of their applications. All application materials must be received by the admissions office as follows.
International applicants must meet the following requirements in order to begin studies in either undergraduate or graduate programs as a degree-seeking F-1 or J-1 student at the University of North Florida. Click an item below to learn more.

UNF will accept select international transcripts without a
foreign evaluation as outlined below. All other international transcripts will
require a course-by-course evaluation (post-secondary) or a course-by-course
and GPA calculation evaluation (high school) by an approved third-party
credential evaluation agency as outlined by the Florida
Department of Education.
Test scores from one of these standard college entrance exams, ACT or SAT, is required of any student who applied for admission to UNF as a freshman or sophomore (with less than 60 college level credit hours). The required test score is determined by the high school grade point average.
- Minimum scores required for all students on the SAT are 460 Critical Reading and 460 Math.
rSAT - Minimum scores required for all students on the rSAT are 500 Evidence-based Reading and Writing and 500 Math.
- Minimum scores required for all students on the ACT is 18 on the English subsection, 19 on the Reading subsection, and 19 on the Math subsection.
Graduate students will need to submit scores for the GMAT or the GRE depending upon the graduate program they are applying to for admission.
(Graduate Management Admission Test).Students must score at least 20 on the verbal component and 22 on the quantitative component of the GMAT. A minimum score of 500 is required of all applicants to the Master of Accountancy and the Master of Business Administration.
(Graduate Record Exam). Scores must be submitted for any graduate program other than Business or Health Administration. Minimum scores requirements vary per department with scores over 1000 (combined verbal and quantitative components) being the most competitive.

U.S. Federal regulations require that international students show reliable documentation that readily available funds are guaranteed at least for the first year of study and that adequate funding will be available from the same or equally dependable sources for subsequent years. The following documents are required before UNF can issue the Form I-20 needed to obtain the F-1 student visa:
F-1 students who are attending a non-SEVIS educational institution in the United States must notify the international student advisor at their current institution of their intention to transfer and to obtain a SEVIS I-20 from UNF.
