If your decision letter states that your admission is “contingent” or “tentative,” you must submit additional documentation in order to finalize your admission to UNF within 30 days of the start of the term. Either you have not yet completed coursework that you were enrolled at the time you submitted your application or we have not yet received your final official transcripts, test scores or other required documentation. Your admission to UNF is based on the successful completion of any coursework in which you are currently enrolled and on your past academic record. As a freshman or sophomore, you are required to submit final official transcripts from high school (showing graduation date) and final official transcripts from each college or secondary institution you may have attended (including dual enrollment). If you have attended more than one school, you will be required to submit final official transcripts from each institution – regardless of whether or not the credit appears as transfer credit on another school’s transcript. You are also required to submit official score reports for any accelerated mechanism credit ‐ such as Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), AICE, CLEP, or DANTES. Official score reports and transcripts must be submitted directly to UNF from the institution or awarding agency or must be submitted in the original sealed envelope. Previously opened documents and documents more than one year old are not considered official.
International students or students who have attended a foreign high school or college must submit official transcripts and an official foreign transcript evaluation from an accredited foreign transcript evaluator recognized by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Additionally, international students from countries where English is not the official language must submit official documentation of English language proficiency. Students with military experience must submit an official copy of their military records (most commonly SMART or AARTS transcript) for transfer credit evaluation.
If you do not submit the required official documentation, UNF reserves the right to reclassify you as a non‐degree seeking student for that term and not allow you to register for classes for the next term. Please note that as a non‐degree seeking student you will not be eligible for financial aid and you will be required to reapply for admission consideration. International students holding student visas cannot attend UNF as non‐degree seeking students.
Your admission to UNF is based on your past academic record and on the successful completion of any coursework in which you are currently enrolled. If your final official high school transcript indicates a failure to graduate or if your college transcripts (if applicable) indicate a cumulative GPA or a last institution GPA below 2.0, UNF reserves the right to reclassify you as a non‐degree seeking student for that term and not allow you to register for classes for the next term.
New Student Orientation is a program designed for first-time-in-college students and new UNF transfer students to assist with their transition to UNF. Orientation is mandatory for first‐time‐in‐college freshmen. Failure to register for or attend orientation will result in the cancellation of your admission to UNF. During Orientation you will:

MyWings is your student portal that contains vital university information pertaining to registration, financial aid, tuition payment and more. Notifications in myWings and UNF email are UNF’s primary, official means of communication. After you have been admitted, it is important to check your UNF e-mail frequently. Your e-mail is accessible through the myWings portal. If you have not logged into the system before, select “Login Help.” Follow the prompts to verify your information, obtain your student ID (N number) and log into the ITS self‐service page. From this page you will be able to create a password. Return to the myWings homepage and log in with your student ID number and password. Access to your email can be found from the icon in the right‐hand corner.
First time in college freshmen will meet with their academic advisors during New Student Orientation to plan their programs of study and register for the appropriate classes. Lower division transfer students are encouraged to meet with their academic advisor before registration and will register for classes according to their registration time ticket posted in myWings. All new freshman and exploratory students are advised by the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE). To contact ACE, call (904) 620‐1012, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the ACE website.
All students must declare their majors in their sophomore year. Some majors have strict prerequisite and GPA requirements. Please contact your academic advisor in ACE to discuss your planned major and set your program of study accordingly. Decided sophomores, juniors and seniors are advised by the college that offers their major. For locations, hours of operations and program information, visit the academic advising home page.
All registration holds must be cleared prior to registration. Holds can be viewed through your myWings account. Contact One-Stop Student Services, (904) 620‐5555, for questions.
To be eligible for financial aid you must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Visit fafsa.ed.gov to locate the application. UNF’s Title IV School code is 009841. If you have been receiving financial aid at previous institution there are additional steps you will need to complete. Contact One-Stop Student Services for details. To have your Florida Bright Futures Scholarship transferred to UNF, visit www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org/SSFAD/bf/.
Financial aid awards are posted in your myWings student portal. Check your myWings often for updates and requirements. The Military and Veterans Resource Center is committed to ensuring that military and veteran students successfully make the transition from the military environment to campus life and are assisted in sustaining their progress toward completion of their academic degree. The Disability Resource Center (DRC) acts as a liaison between students with disabilities and the academic community. In compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, the DRC provides academic support services necessary for the student’s academic pursuits. Students with disabilities are encouraged to register with the DRC immediately upon admission to UNF. The DRC is not able to provide accommodations to students who have not completed the registration process. There are six residence halls available to UNF students offering a variety of floor plans and amenities. Students should send their contract and deposit early to secure their space and have a better chance of receiving their preferred residence hall and roommate selections. You are required to submit proof of immunization against measles, mumps and rubella. You will not be allowed to register for classes until your immunization forms are received and cleared by UNF’s Medical Compliance Office. Contact the UNF Medical Compliance Office at (904) 620‐2175. Health insurance information is also accessible from the Medical Compliance web page. International students holding student visas are required to submit additional documentation.
Every car parked on the UNF campus must have a valid parking pass. Daily parking passes are available for $5 per day from the information booths at either entrance to the University or at the permit dispensers located in lots 18 or 53. Parking decals are also available for a semester or annual rate. Prices and purchasing information for passes is available at www.unf.edu/parking.
Tuition is due by 5 p.m. on the last day of add/drop. All tuition and fees must be pended or paid by that date. Tuition may be paid by cash or check in the Student Financial Services, by mail or by the drop box located outside of the Cashier’s Office, building 53/Room 1100. Students may pay online with an e‐check or credit card through their myWings portal. The current tuition rates and due dates for payments can be viewed online. The amount of tuition is determined by your Florida residency status as indicated on your admissions application and the number of credit hours in which you are enrolled. Visit myWings.unf.edu and check the “My Application” tab for your current residency status. The Osprey 1Card is the official identification card of the UNF and is required for access to essential campus services. It also offers Ozzie Bucks ‐ a convenient account for making purchases on and off campus. All students are required to have an Osprey 1Card. There is an annual $10 cost for the ID, which is incorporated into your tuition and fees. For more information, visit www.unf.edu/business-services/ and click Osprey 1Card.
Proof of Florida residency is required for assessment of in-state tuition and to be eligible for the Learning for a Lifetime (Senior Citizen) Program. All degree-seeking and non-degree-seeking students whose previous enrollment (if any) was more than 12 months prior to the start of the term for which the student is applying must present acceptable proof of legal Florida residency at the time of application for admission/readmission in order to be assessed in-state tuition and fees. Students who do not have acceptable proof of legal Florida residency will be assessed out-of-state tuition and fees. Residency classification is not based on financial hardships.
