Confirming your admission
UNF does not require a tuition deposit, so the only way to lock in your seat in our freshman class is to register for Orientation. Orientation is mandatory for all first-time-in-college students. If at any time you decide you do not want to attend, please contact us so we can make your seat available for another student.
If you have decided not to attend UNF, please notify us of your decision so we can open your seat for another potential student. You can fill out our online cancellation form or email us at email@example.com.
Staying in touch
We communicate with all our admitted students through the official university portal – your UNF email address. You can access your student email account via myWings. Be sure to check it regularly for important messages about orientation, financial aid and other business matters.
Before registration, there are several holds that must be cleared on your student account. It is your responsibility to check myWings for these holds and take the necessary steps to clear them. Be sure to check your holds well in advance of your orientation date as some, such as Campus Clarity, may take up to 2 – 3 business days to clear.
If you are a first time in college freshman you will meet with your academic advisor during orientation to plan your program of study and register for the appropriate classes. If you are a transfer student, you are encouraged to meet with your academic advisor before registration and will register for classes according to your registration time ticket posted in myWings.
To be eligible for financial aid we recommend that you submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 14. If you were admitted to the Summer or Spring terms there may be additional documentation required. Read more information about the financial aid process on the One-Stop Student Services webpage. In order to get the most of your UNF experience, all students are encouraged to live and dine on campus during their first year. We recommend applying for housing early in order to secure your first choice of residence hall.
Freshmen are also invited to participate in unique Living Learning Communities (LLCs) where students with like interests are grouped together in the same residence hall and are enrolled in a special topic course. Recent LLCs have been offered in conjunction with Honors, Brooks College of Health, Coggin College of Business and UNF's Pre-Med Program.
Degree Tracking (My Osprey Map)
These course sequence guides provide a term-by-term sample schedule for undergraduate academic programs at the University of North Florida. These maps are designed to guide you in the selection of courses for each term. Following the sample schedule, and completing the mile marker courses at the appropriate point in your undergraduate career, will facilitate graduation in four years. The Osprey Map should be used in consultation with an academic advisor.

You have been admitted for a specific term, and your admission is not transferable. If you cannot attend, please contact the Office of Admissions for information on how to reapply for another term. Proof of Florida residency is required for assessment of in-state tuition and to be eligible for the Learning for a Lifetime (Senior Citizen) Program. All degree-seeking and non-degree-seeking students whose previous enrollment (if any) was more than 12 months prior to the start of the term for which the student is applying must present acceptable proof of legal Florida residency at the time of application for admission/readmission in order to be assessed in-state tuition and fees. Students who do not have acceptable proof of legal Florida residency will be assessed out-of-state tuition and fees. Residency classification is not based on financial hardships.
