In the Summer of 2011, the Volunteer Center created a new initiative. Based on the high level of need for financial aid, the Volunteer Center decided to adopt the concept of an on-campus food pantry which became available to students on April 3, 2012. The Lend-A-Wing Pantry, located on the first floor of UNF Hall (Bldg. 53) near the Cashier’s Office is an anonymous food pantry that allows the UNF students to get the food and hygiene products they need without any form of payment with a flash of a UNF ID (this is done to make sure the individual is a student at the University, however identifiable information is not recorded). Students are permitted to take up to five pounds of items per day. The LAW Pantry will remain open with the support of gracious donors and student volunteers. The LAW Pantry will also host educational workshops throughout the semester which incorporate helpful tips how to stay on budget while maintaining a healthy diet.

To help create an easier volunteering process we have created a Sign Up Genius page. The hours listed are our normally schedule hours and DO NOT include any addition times. Please like our Facebook page for daily updates on what Lend-A-Wing is involved with and any extra volunteer opportunities we may have this semester. We also can answer any questions through email, or stop by Lend-A-Wing or the Student Government offices in Building 58, on the 3rd floor. Thank you again for your interest and we hope to hear from you soon!
