Student Government awards scholarships annually during the Fall semester of each academic year. Student Government scholarship applications for the 2014-2015 academic year were due Friday, September 26, 2014 at 5:00pm. Decentralized Scholarships are Scholarships that are allocated by Student Government for other departments to distribute. The applications are available within the corresponding departments from which the scholarship is distributed. The Departments themselves decide on the award recipient(s) for each award. Any questions about these scholarships should be directed to the corresponding department directly.
Q: What qualifies as a non-traditional student?
A: A Non-Traditional student is typically someone who delays college enrollment and does not enroll immediately following high school completion, works full time (32 or more hours per week) while enrolled, is considered financially independent for purposes of determining eliegibility for financial aid, has dependents other than a spouse (usually children, but may also be caregivers of sick or elderly family members), is a single parent (either
not married or married but separated and has dependents), or does not have a high school diploma (completed high school with
a GED or other high school completion certificate or did not finish high
Q: When will the awards be distributed?
A: Scholarship Award Recipients will be notified via mailed letter before Winter Break.
Q: What is the deadline for the scholarships?
A: All scholarship applications and required documentation were due September 26th by 5:00 pm.
