UNF Homecoming 2017

UNF is continuing our “There’s no Place like UNF” Family Weekend theme to celebrate Homecoming at UNF! The Office of Parent and Family Programs has planned activities specifically for parents and families during Homecoming on Saturday, Feb. 11.

The registration fee is $20 per person (this fee is for the events hosted by the Office of Parent and Family Programs only) and includes the activities listed below, including the 6th Man Basketball Package. There is no registration fee for UNF students. Please note that the 6th Man Basketball package is not available for students, but parents and families that register. The package includes a game ticket, 6th Man T-Shirt and Ozzie Bucks to use at the concession stand. UNF students with a valid Osprey 1Card are admitted to the basketball game free of charge. Students must show their ID’s at the gate for admittance and sit in the student section. 

Please register by printing and completing the registration form (click here for form.) Payments can be made by check or credit card. Although UNF students attend free of charge, please include your student in the 'number attending' for the events they plan to participate in except for the athletic events (Women's Basketball and the 6th Man Package.) 

Parking will be available in the Osprey Clubhouse Parking Lot 12 or the Fine Arts Center Parking Garage Annex, 44-A for our activities. Parking is not enforced during the weekend so you can move your car to the Arena Garage or Lot 18 to participate in the afternoon activities and the basketball games.

Check-in for the fun-filled day. 

Parents Association Meeting, Program and Lunch 

10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. 

Osprey Clubhouse, Multipurpose Room, 2nd floor

Network with other parents and get updates and news from the Parents Association and University. The meeting will feature guest speaker, Janet Owen, UNF Vice President of Governmental Affairs. Owen will be discussing higher education issues that will be covered during the legislative session and how families can become advocates for UNF. 

Women's Basketball v. USC Upstate

1 p.m.

UNF Arena

Tickets will be available when you check-in. 


Zip Lining and Canoeing 

1 – 5 p.m. 

Lake Oneida, Golden Pavilion, Building 54, Lot 100

Experience the one-of-a-kind zip line over Lake Oneida and canoeing. 

Guided Nature Trail Tour 

3 – 4 p.m.

Robert W. Loftin Nature Trails, Golden Pavilion, Building 54, Lot 100

Meet your tour guide at the Golden Pavilion and immerse yourself in UNF's natural surroundings in the wildlife sanctuary. This walk will take you a quarter-mile around Lake Oneida and will explore up to five fresh water habitats. Bring water, wear closed-toe shoes and dress for the weather.

Homecoming Village 

4:30 – 7 p.m. 

UNF Arena Plaza

Join us for Homecoming Village, an afternoon of fun in the Arena Plaza before the 6th Man Game! This family-friendly event features all of the best parts of tailgating without all of the work. There will be food, refreshments, outdoor games, music, a photo booth and a variety of campus organizations offering activities and giveaways. It’s a great time to catch up with friends, pick up your 6th Man Game ticket packages, and get into the UNF spirit before the Ospreys take on the Spartans!


6th Man Homecoming Basketball Game 

7 p.m. 

UNF Arena 

The 6th Man is back! We're excited to present this special ticket package for alumni, parents and families at the UNF Men's Basketball Homecoming game versus USC Upstate. Be the Osprey’s sixth man and show your Osprey pride from the stands!


The 6th man package is included in your registration fee for the Office of Parent and Family Program activities. The 6th man package includes a game ticket, 6th Man T-Shirt and Ozzie Bucks to use at the concession stand. 


Other Homecoming Activities (Please note - separate registration and fees are required) 

There are other activities open to parents and families during the weekend hosted by the UNF Alumni Engagement Office that require a separate registration and fee to attend.
