Military Veteran Student Ambassadors
Note: Membership in limited to military and veteran students. Hard work and commitment to participation in activities can b worked around Ambassador's class and study schedule.
The goals of the Ambassadors are to:
- Inform prospective military and veteran students and their families interested in the University of North Florida (UNF) about all facets of campus life -- academic programs, faculty and students, physical facilities, social opportunities, and student services.
- Assist with important public relations programs such as Orientations, workshops, center programs, etc.
- Personalize the University and MVRC by making campus visitors feel welcome, comfortable, and positive about UNF by demonstrating sincerity, enthusiasm, credibility, interest, and helpfulness.
Activities of the Ambassadors include:
- Representing UNF and MVRC, by giving campus tours to prospective student veterans.
- Participating in MVRC’s Fall and Spring Orientation programs.
- Assisting, as needed, at special events that occur throughout the year.
- Attending training sessions.
- Special events for members such as holiday parties, end-of-year receptions, and monthly social event.
Ambassadors enjoy important advantages from membership:
- Unparalleled experience in public relations (meeting people, public speaking, representing the University and MVRC) which develops the skills and confidence vital to success in job interviews and career advancement
- Being part of a dynamic, helping organization
