“From Seneca to Selma to Stonewall”: Self-guided Campus Tour (Month Long)

Wednesday, October 01, 2014 - 2014-10-31

Grab a friend and complete a walking tour of the Center’s special Diversity exhibit, curated by the Stonewall National Museum and Archives and hosted in celebration of LGBT History Month. The exhibit images anchor on President Obama’s acknowledgement of Seneca Falls, Selma (Alabama) and Stonewall (New York City) as three historical sites of efforts for civil rights and equality. Images are hosted by different organizations on campus to represent the diversity of UNF students, faculty and staff across the disciplines. Each site will have a map and checklist of locations. Return the completed map to the Resource Center during October for a special treat.

Ian Harvie, “Super hero”, Comedy Show + Meet and Greet

Tuesday, November 04, 2014

Location: Student Union Auditorium

You may know Ian Harvie as Margaret Cho’s opening act, a cross-country headliner or a groundbreaking trans comedian unafraid to joke about subjects no other comedian has ever touched.

In the spring 2014, Harvie (with the help of executive producer Cho) unveiled his first-ever live standup comedy special, poking fun at topics from top surgery to his fear of public restrooms to his active sex life.

Harvie’s unique act queers the traditionally macho, sex-obsessed world of stand up in ways you won’t believe, proving that laughter cuts across all gender identities and ultimately unites us all.

Harvie was recently cast to co-star on the new Jill Soloway TV series TRANSPARENT ON Amazon due out in September 2014.
