  IVCL TEDx event logo TEDxWomen Simulcast

    On December 1, 2012, the Institute for Values, Community and Leadership, with co-sponsorship from TEDxRiversideAvondale, offered a live simulcast of TEDxWomen. The event was live streamed from Washington D.C. to over 150 cities around the world.

   

   Featured topics in leadership: Learning to recognize and the space between seeing and doing, between knowing and responding, between staying in the dark and seeking the light, beween disruption and moving on, and finding creative solutions to enact positive change in these situations.

 

 Speakers included: Kate Clinton-comedian, Asali DeVan Ecclesiastes-poet, Eboo Patel-Interfaith Youth Advocate & Leader,  Eve Ensler-Tony award-winning playwright, Shabana Basij-Rasikh-Advocate for education equality, Brittany Wenger-2012 Google Science Fair Winner, Bob and Lee Woodruff-former ABC News Journalist and Author, and much more.

  On October 23, 2012, the Institute for Values, Community and Leadership, with co-sponsorship from the Office of Undergraduate Studies brought Mr. St. John to the University of North Florida. Mr. St. John is the author of the 2012-2013 UNF READS! book selection, Outcasts United.

  On March 7, 2012, the Institute for Values, Community and Leadership, with co-sponsorship from the Honors Program, African-American Student Union, the Women's Center, and the Intercultural Center for PEACE, brought The Honorable Angela M. Cox to the stage.
