The specific activity
(leadership action) that you are reflecting upon must have occurred since you
have been enrolled at UNF. This first field has a drop down menu listing all
terms since you first enrolled at UNF;

family life. Here’s where the student can document the significance of such
experiences to the degree to which the event impacts leadership development. For
instance, leadership development can occur in the midst of a major crisis or
life-changing experience, such as the death of a parent/spouse/sibling, a major
illness, accident, unemployment, relocation, etc.

reflection on the ELT. Also, certain activities in the classroom that involve
leadership actions, such as working on team projects.
D. Qualified COURSE-RELATED Service Learning Leadership Activity

or activity that you are reflecting on. Make it as specific as possible; (60

one that relates to this particular activity and that you will reflect on;

in your documentation of the activity and the learning about leadership that
ensued. Write a
minimum of 3 paragraphs.
The narrative is limited to
3750 characters (including spaces),
which is equivalent to approximately one
full page of single-spaced 12point text in a word document. If you go much over
this limit, you will get a bizarre “computer garbage” screen, different than
other error-types that are noted with the red error indication notice.
We recommend that you compose your narrative
in a Word document, check for spelling and grammar, then “copy/paste” it into
the ELT textbox. The ELT has “Rich Text” options in the narrative text box for
this field, allowing you to format text and pull in links and other features
that may be helpful to the crafting of your reflection. Be sure to SAVE your
word document on your computer or flash drive, just in case your response gets
“lost” for some reason.
Your reflection should
specifically discuss your learning/insight in the context of the particular Learning Outcome and Indicator you selected, as it unpacks
what you specifically learned about leadership, i.e. how the reflected activity
(experience) may have impacted your understanding and practice of leadership,
or even changed you as a person;This
is absolutely necessary for a valid ELT entry. This is where you draw meaning
from the activity. Be sure to connect with the descriptive sentence that
describes the “Outcome Indicator” (Field #8) that you selected.
your narrative can also connect with something you learned in the classroom,
especially in courses taken in leadership or within your major, and making
specific reference to some theory, leadership concept, or research therein; i.e. “I was reminded of
Greenleaf’s notion of servant leadership, because … etc.”
To submit an additional
learning experience for this same activity (but with a different
outcome/indicator), first click “Return
to Previous” in the upper right, which takes you back to the main menu.
From there, on the main menu, click: Enter
an Additional Experience/Outcome to a previously submitted Activity;
then look in your “bin” of prior submissions and click the link on the sequence
number for the activity you wish to add a “new” learning experience with a
different Outcome/Indicator combination. The system will then automatically
populate Fields #1-#6; you only now need to select a different “Outcome” and
one of its corresponding “bullet” indicators. Then continue to enter a new
“reflection/explanation” that justifies that new particular learning outcome/indicator.
Keep in mind that you can enter multiple learning experiences for the same
activity, so long as each submission uses a different outcome/indicator
combination and has its own unique Reflection/Explanation narrative.
There is a column in your bin
called “Validator Comments” ... if your ELT has been reviewed and comments or
corrective requests put forth, the character “Y” will appear in that column. If
so, be sure to click the “Sequence Number” for that item and view the
validator’s comments that appear below your narrative. Edit your ELT entry
accordingly, following the directions in paragraph “D” immediately below.
The last option on the Menu (View Experiential Learning Transcript) will generate a report of all finalized (approved) ELT entries. This generally will not be available until just priot to the delivery of your Leadership Capstone in the final Practicum course. Note: You can continue to post to the ELT after graduation, so long as you continue to have access to MyWings.
