The Institute offers opportunities for our students to receive hands-on experience with the following organizations. This experience provide outlets for civic involvement and leadership development. For those students who pursue the UNF Leadership Certificate, involvement with these organizations can be certified as meaningful learning experiences that meet requirements for the certificate. These experiences serve to complement classroom learning, provide real-world experience, while also equipping the student with a marketable “edge” when it comes to applying for employment or graduate school.
Career Services provides a comprehensive, four-year career development program designed to teach students how to assess their individual skills and interests, research careers, explore the world of work through experiential learning opportunities, and present themselves effectively to employers and graduate schools.
The UNF Environmental Center's mission is to establish, develop, and support cross-disciplinary education and research related to the environment. The Center fosters programs for students, faculty, and staff to pursue environmental activities through academics, research, and extracurricular activities, as well as conducts and supports campus infrastructure projects involving environmental sustainability and the campus's natural environment.
HP seeks to promote the health and well-being of the University community. Through its diverse programs and services, the department educates on the importance of making pro-health choices. The ultimate goal of its work is to develop a greater appreciation of healthy living and to foster physical, emotional and spiritual growth and development within others.
UNF Housing and Residence Life houses almost 3,000 students on campus. We offer leadership opportunities to over 100 student leaders: from Resident Assistant positions to representing and serving the top leaders who live with us.
RHA is the student government for students who live in the residence halls. RHA serves as the voice of the on-campus students, advocates for the needs of on-campus students, and provides on-campus programs for our residents. All who live with us are automatically members!
NRHH represents and serves the top 1% of student leaders living on-campus at the University of North Florida. We truly are an honor society of the top leaders of our residence halls.
IVCL sponsors of the annual Student Leadership Summit. The Institute seeks to develop and promote global ethical leadership and character among our students and the UNF community through education, service, civic engagement and research. Its Leadership Certificate Program provides students with an intentional track to study theory and practice of leadership.
The mission of the Interfaith Center is to care for the individual, and to lead, educate and advocate the expression of religious faith and core values.
The mission of the International Center is to provide and enhance, through both curricular and co-curricular activities, a range of opportunities which can expand the global understanding of the UNF community. The International Center is responsible for (1) recruiting and providing programs, activities, and services that address the specific needs of international students on campus and (2) developing and promoting study abroad activities for domestic students who seek international learning experiences in Study Abroad and International Programs in general.
The Arc Jacksonville helps individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities unlock their potential to take on valued roles in the community. The On Campus Transition (OCT) aims to provide the opportunity for young adults with intellectual disabilities to become independent members of society. This collaboration of the Arc Jacksonville and UNF OCT is accomplished through campus and community inclusion with the help of mentor volunteers as well as other employment services and training.
Presidential Envoys are the student ambassadors of UNF who focus on Alumni Association events, school spirit and community service. PESAA is a great opportunity for meeting new peers, networking with Alumni, and getting involved with other campus leaders.
UNF Recreation is the primary on-campus resource for recreational and social activities. The purpose of Campus Recreation is to provide students, faculty, and staff with a wide variety of recreational and social activities ranging from fitness classes and intramural sports at the magnificent new UNF Arena (opening Summer 2012) to Eco Adventures of kayaking, sailing, white water trips, natural trails, and the UNF Organic Garden.
Rotaract is an international service-club for UNF's finest young professionals, sponsored by Rotary International. Rotaractors make up a special kind of UNF student on the threshold of their careers, and like their counterparts in Rotary International, their primary focus is "Service Above Self," striving to enhance our community through the common bonds of professional development, service, and friendship.
Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) brings together a diverse network of university students, academic professionals, and business leaders around the shared mission of creating a better, more sustainable world. From delivering a computer classroom to a rural village in the Dominican Republic to helping foster youth develop skills for the future, UNF SIFE has won 14 consecutive regional championships and placed in the top 20 of 800 teams nationally in five of the last six years.
SG actively works to meet the needs of students and to enhance the quality of campus life and do this through hosting a variety of programs and funding student organizations. Student Government’s primary agencies include: Club Alliance, Osprey Productions, the UNF Volunteer Center, and the African American Student Union.
The Volunteer Center serves as a liaison between UNF student volunteers and the Jacksonville community. We serve you so you can serve your community!
If you have a concern or want more information about issues affecting women, the Women’s Center is the place to start. UNF’s Women’s Center’s has advocated for the political, social, and economic gains of ALL people by eradicating gender-based inequalities in a supportive atmosphere.
