Fall 2012 Housing Check-in Information

For Returning/Transfer Students

Welcome back to campus! Check-in for Returning/Transfer Students is Saturday, August 18, 2012. Please note, all buildings do not open at the same time. Please follow your assigned building's specific scheduled check-in date and time as you will NOT be able to move into your residence hall room prior to your scheduled time. Should you arrive prior to your check-in time you will be redirected to come back during your allotted time.

STEP 1: Ensure your Fall 2012 rent has been paid or been deferred. For information on payment options for rent visit How To Pay. If you have not paid or deferred your Fall 2012 rent you will not be permitted to check in.

STEP 2:Determine your check-in date and time from the table below. Please note, Freshman (new first year students) and Upper-class (returning/transfer) students have different check-in dates and time. Please follow your assigned check-in date and time as you will NOT be able to move into your residence hall room prior to your scheduled time. Should you arrive prior to your check-in date and time you will be redirected to come back during your allotted time.

Osprey Village (A – G Building) 

10:00am – 4:00pm

Osprey Fountains (South Tower HOUSES 6-10 ONLY) 

9:00am – 11:00am

Osprey Fountains (North Tower HOUSES 16–20 ONLY) 

11:00am – 1:00pm

Osprey Fountains (South Tower HOUSES 1–5 ONLY) 

1:00pm – 3:00pm

Osprey Fountains (North Tower HOUSES 11–15 ONLY) 

3:00pm – 5:00pm

Upper-class and late Freshmen assigned to Osprey Hall, Osprey Landing, Osprey Cove and Osprey Crossings will check-in at the Central Housing Office (Building 14B) 

10:00am – 2:00pm

STEP 3:Determine your check-in location by reviewing the building specific check-in locations. Housing Operations and Residence Life staff will be on-hand to assist in completing the check-in process. Each resident must be present and show a picture ID to begin the check-in process.

Osprey Village Building A – G Residents: 

When you arrive on campus, follow the road signs to Osprey Village. Park your vehicle near the Osprey Village Complex (Parking Lot 11 or 12).Report to your assigned building (A, B, C, D, E, F or G) and visit the Resident Assistant room (#108).You will be issued your room key and will be able to move your belongings into your assigned room at that time.

Osprey Fountains (North & South Tower) Residents: 

When you arrive on campus, follow the road signs to Osprey Fountains (located off of Osprey Ridge Road). Park your vehicle in the Osprey Fountains parking lot. When you enter the Osprey Fountains you will be directed to the appropriate area to be issued your room key.

STEP 4: Move your belongings into your room. We encourage you to bring your own hand truck/dolly to assist you in moving boxes and other heavy items. Please review what to bring (and what not to bring) to help you to prepare to move on campus. Please note, Housing and Residence Life is unable to provide staff or equipment to assist in moving personal items.

Additional Check-in Information

Housing Accountants will be available during Fall 2012 Housing Check-in to assist with any questions regarding housing balances.

Students will not be permitted to check in prior to their scheduled check-in date and time. If you need to arrive before your scheduled check in time, please make off-campus lodging arrangements (in advance).For your convenience, we have provided the following link to some area hotels:

During check-in there will be traffic congestion around the residence halls. Please follow the road signs to the residence halls. Please be patient and allow yourself ample time to move your things into your room. If you choose to drop off your belongings in a designated loading/unloading zone, you will not be allowed to leave the vehicle unattended. Please ensure that someone remains with your belongings at all times.
