Organization Facts

Kappa Delta Sorority was founded at the State Female Normal School (now Longwood University) in Farmville, Virginia, on October 23, 1897. Kappa Delta's original ideals of friendship, fellowship, and sisterly love have remained constant and strong for more than 110 years, and the KD sisterhood has today grown into an association with over 200,000 initiated sisters nationwide.

Kappa Delta is proud to have four philanthropy projects - the most of any Panhellenic sorority. These causes include Girls Scouts of the USA, Prevent Child Abuse America, the Children's Hospital in Richmond, VA, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Chapter Facts

The Eta Zeta Chapter of Kappa Delta at the University of North Florida was colonized on December 6, 2003. Since its start, sisters have worked hard to foster the development of their time-honored values set before them, by inculcating into their members' hearts and lives those principles of truth, of honor, and of duty. Constantly working towards their national vision of providing opportunities and experiences that inspire women to greatness, members of Kappa Delta currently serve as the Student Government Senate President Pro Tempore, Overall Dance Marathon Chair, Coggin College of Business Student Leadership Advisory Board members, Student Government Senators, Presidential Envoys and members of over 60 UNF clubs.

Recruitment Info

Panhellenic VP Recruitment: Valerie Meyerowich

President: Robin Brown

Email: etazetapresident@gmail.com

Hi! My name is Robin Brown, and I am the current president of the Eta Zeta chapter at UNF. I am 21 years old with two younger sisters. I was born in Jupiter, FL, but attended middle school and high school in Bedford, MI. In my spare time, I enjoy relaxing by the pool, shopping (far more than I should), and attending spin classes with my KD sisters.

I will graduate December of 2014 with a major in psychology and a minor in sociology. As a student, I am enrolled in the Honors program, actively involved in undergraduate research with my professors, and a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. I joined Kappa Delta in 2011, and immediately fell in love with the sisterhood and the values KD stands for. Kappa Delta has given me the opportunity to volunteer in the Jacksonville community, find my future bridesmaids and best friends, and grow into a confident leader and woman.

Recruitment Chair: Alex Crotts

Hey, everyone! I’m Alex Crotts, and I am Eta Zeta’s current Vice President Membership here at UNF. I am 21 years old, and I’m from Ormond Beach, FL. Outside of school and Kappa Delta, I enjoy paddleboarding, hanging out with sisters, and getting my hot yoga on!

Next Spring 2015, I will graduate with a major in Electronic Media and minor in Art. My aspirations post-graduation are to be a television show or music video producer. As a UNF student, I am involved with over 4 other organizations on campus. Rushing as sophomore in 2012, I found a home away from home in KD. I never realized how much I needed Kappa Delta until I went through the recruitment process. KD’s morals, values, and, more importantly, strong sisterhood has given me the opportunity to network, aid the local community, and grow as a confident leader, woman, and friend.
