National Pan-Hellenic Council

Welcome

Hello Ospreys!

My name is Raymond Jack and I am the NPHC President for the fall 2012 academic semester. I am also a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.  It is my pleasure to serve as your vehicle for all NPHC relations this year. The current initiatives for the fall 2012 semester include emphasis on Outstanding Scholarship, Programming, Connection, and Service.

Here is a brief history of our council:

The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) was founded in Washington, D.C. on the campus of Howard University; May 10, 1930.  Nationally, the NPHC is comprised of the nine Greek organizations, commonly referred as the "Divine Nine."

The purpose of the Council is to promote interaction among its affiliates.  By engaging in collective programming and ideas through a variety of functions and activities, the Council has a powerful impact on their communities.  Here at UNF, some of the past projects include: Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade, NPHC Week, and Mentoring Project with students from Andrew Jackson High School, and our Community Step Show/Cook Out.

Currently, all nine (9) of the national NPHC chapters exist at UNF (Alpha Kappa Alpha, Alpha Phi Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, Zeta Phi Beta, Sigma Gamma Rho, and Iota Phi Theta).

The National Pan-Hellenic Council does not hold Rush or Recruitment events.  For further information about joining any one of our Greek Letter Organizations, please review the “recruitment/intake” section in each of our chapters' pages. You may also feel free to visit the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life for more information as well.

Go Ospreys and Go Greek!
