Student Affairs Scholarships

 

The Division of Student Affairs realizes there can be a more meaningful college experience through financial scholarships. The hope is to assist a student who is currently working to have more time to study and be in the classroom. In pursuit of this goal, Student Affairs makes scholarships available to students seeking to enrich their academic endeavors, and fulfill their dreams of a bachelor’s degree.

UNF Parents Association Endowed Scholarship 

 

 

Applications are now being accepted for the 2018-2019 UNF Parents Association Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship in the amount of $3,000 ($1,500 /Fall and $1,500/Spring) was established to provide assistance to current students who have completed at least 24 credit hours in undergraduate studies. The scholarship is based on academic excellence, a commitment to community service and a personal essay. The application deadline is March 26, 2018.

 

Criteria 

  • Accepted to UNF
  • Completed at least 24 credit hours as an undergraduate student at UNF
  • Earn a minimum UNF GPA of 3.0
  • Demonstrate a commitment to community service
  • Be an undergraduate student in good Academic and Disciplinary standing

Student Responsibility  

  • Enroll full-time (12 credit hours) each semester and earn a minimum of 24 credits by the end of each academic year. Graduating seniors may apply.
  • Remain in good standing as a student
  • Maintain a GPA of at least 3.0  
  • Comply with all University regulations, rules, policies, and Student Code of Conduct
  • Consent to release grades to the Division of Institutional Advancement for the purposes of reporting to the Donor
  • Consent to release Disciplinary Records
  • Attend yearly Donor-Scholar luncheon or Donor related events

 Scholarship Application    

 

UNF Taylor Leadership Institute Student Leadership Scholarship  

 

Applications are now being accepted for the 2018-2019 Student Leadership Scholarship. The scholarship in the amount of $1,500 ($750/Fall and $750/Spring) was established to provide financial assistance to current undergraduate students who are enrolled in at least 9 credit hours, and declared the UNF Community Leadership Minor. Applicants must be in good standing. The scholarship is based on a commitment to leadership, a letter of recommendation, and a personal essay. The application deadline is March 26, 2018.

 

Criteria 

  • meet admissions requirements and be accepted to the University of North Florida,
  • enroll as an undergraduate Junior or Senior by Fall 2018 at the University of North Florida, earning a minimum of 9 credit hours,
  • maintain a cumulative UNF institutional GPA of 2.5,
  • Must be a declared Leadership Minor,
  • submit a short essay (500 words or less) describing your growth and evolution as a leader and how this scholarship would advance your leadership acumen.
  • submit one letter of recommendation by a member of the UNF faculty or staff

        (Please request a LOR from faculty or staff who are not members of the Taylor Leadership Institute; they are your champions and would like to see everyone receive the scholarship.)

Student Responsibility  

 

  • enroll as an undergraduate Junior or Senior by Fall 2018, earning a minimum of 9 credit hours each semester, and a minimum of 18 credits by the end of each academic year,
  • maintain a cumulative UNF GPA of at least 2.5 for the freshman, sophomore, junior and senior years,
  • comply with all University regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus,
  • consent to release grades to the Division of Institutional Advancement for the purpose of reporting to the Donor, and
  • remain in good standing as a student.

Friends of Student Affairs Community Council Endowed Scholarship 

 

Applications are now being accepted for the 2018-2019 UNF Student Affairs Community Council Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship in the amount of $2,000 ($1,000/Fall and $1,000/Spring) was established to provide assistance to current undergraduate students who work to support themselves or dependents, and who reside in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau or St. Johns County. The application deadline is March 26, 2018.

Criteria 

  • Be accepted to UNF as an undergraduate student
  • Be a resident of Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau or St. Johns county
  • Earn a minimum UNF cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • Be a head of household with dependents, or a student who must work to support a household
  • File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Demonstrate financial need as defined by the University’s Office of Financial Aid

Student Responsibility  

  • Enroll a minimum of 9 credit hours each semester and earn a minimum  18 credits by the end of each academic year
  • Maintain a GPA of at least 2.0  
  • Meet with donors at least once a year
  • Be a head of household with dependents, or working to support self or dependents
  • Remain in good standing as a student
  • Comply with all University regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus
  • Consent to release grades to the Division of Institutional Advancement for the purposes of reporting to the donors 

 Scholarship Application   

 

Gandhi Memorial Endowed Scholarship 

 

Applications are now being accepted for the 2018-2019 Gandhi Memorial Society Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship in the amount of $1,000 ($500 /Fall and $500/Spring) was established to provide assistance to sophomore, junior or senior students who have a demonstrated commitment to nonviolence, humanitarian and community service. The application deadline is March 26, 2018.

Criteria 

  • Meet admissions requirements and be accepted to the University of North Florida
  • Be enrolled as a sophomore, junior or senior
  • Earn a minimum UNF cumulative GPA of 2.75
  • Demonstrate a commitment to nonviolence, humanitarian and community service
  • File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Demonstrate financial need as defined by the University’s Office of Financial Aid

Student Responsibility

Applications are now being accepted for the 2018-2019 Satya and Kamal Pachori Scholarship. The scholarship in the amount of $1,000 ($500 /Fall and $500/Spring) was established to provide assistance to sophomore, junior or senior students who have a demonstrated commitment to nonviolence, humanitarian and community service. The application deadline is March 26, 2018.

Criteria 

  • Meet admissions requirements and be accepted to the University of North Florida
  • Be enrolled as a sophomore, junior or senior
  • Reside in Florida for tuition purposes
  • Earn a minimum UNF cumulative GPA of 2.75
  • Demonstrate a commitment to nonviolence, humanitarian and community service
  • File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Demonstrate financial need as defined by the University’s Office of Financial Aid

Student Responsibility

 UNF LGBT Building Bridges, Creating Community Full-Time Scholarship 

 

 Applications are now being accepted for the 2018-2019 UNF LGBT Building Bridges, Creating Community Full-Time Scholarship. The scholarship is $1,000 ($500/Fall and $500/Spring). The application deadline is March 26, 2018.  

Criteria   

  • Be accepted to UNF as an undergraduate student 
  • Earn a minimum UNF cumulative GPA of 2.5 
  • File a FAFSA and demonstrate financial need 

Student Responsibility

  • Enroll for a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester and earn a minimum of 24 credits by the end of each academic year
  • Maintain a GPA of at least 2.5
  • Remain in good standing as a student
  • Comply with all University regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus
  • Consent to release grades to the Division of Institutional Advancement for the purposes of reporting to the donors
  • Preference given to students who register with UNF Pride Club or the LGBT Resource Center.

Renewal  

Current recipients may apply for renewal and will be given preference pending availability of funding, and if all of the preceding requirements have been met.  No student will be eligible to receive more than eight semesters of scholarship support.

 UNF LGBT Building Bridges, Creating Community Part-Time Scholarship 

 

 Applications are now being accepted for the 2018-2019 UNF LGBT Building Bridges, Creating Community Part-Time Scholarship. The scholarship is $500 ($250 /Fall and $250/Spring). The application deadline is March 26, 2018.  

Criteria  

  • Be accepted to UNF as an undergraduate student 
  • Earn a minimum UNF cumulative GPA of 2.5 
  • File a FAFSA and demonstrate financial need 

 Student Responsibility  

  • Enroll part-time for a minimum of 6 credit hours each semester and earn a minimum of 12 credits by the end of each academic year 
  • Maintain a GPA of at least 2.5 
  • Remain in good standing as a student 
  • Comply with all University regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus 
  • Consent to release grades to the Division of Institutional Advancement for the purposes of reporting to the donors 
  • Preference given to students who register with UNF Pride Club or the LGBT Resource Center. 

Renewal
