Objective
The university-sponsored event is aimed at educating students, faculty and staff about ways to reduce campus trash through recycling, litter-prevention practices and other “environmental” issues. The program was iniated by Stacy E. Wheeler in March 8, 2007. The program's purpose is to identify and quantify the types and sources of materials in UNF's solid waste stream. The findings are calibrated to improve efficiency and reduce waste of UNF waste management and recycling programs.
The study is funded and coordinated by the UNF Environmental Center with the support of physical facilities. If you are interested in volunteer hours contact Abdub Jirmo at ajirmo@gmail.com or call (904) 620-5802.
