RecycleMania: February 3 to March 31, 2014
RecycleMania is an ongoing, 10-week long, friendly competition between colleges and universities nationwide. Each school registered reports on their waste and recycling practices in different categories to rank themselves among other participating peer institutions. The goal of RecycleMania is to motivate the campus community to reduce wasteful practices and improve recycling behaviors.
UNF participates in the Stephen K Gaski Per Capita Classic, in which schools compete to see which can collect the largest amount of paper, cardboard and bottles and cans on a per person basis. To learn more about RecycleMania or to see how UNF compares to other universities please visit www.recyclemaniacs.org. In addition, the Environmental Center organizes a number of events to help educated students, faculty and staff about the importance of recycling and waste reduction.
The Environmental Center is looking for student volunteers to help plan, coordinate and execute the Recyclemania competition. Interested students should contact Katie Borello or James Taylor at (904) 620-5804 for more information.
