The American Heart Association® is the world leader in CPR and Emergency Cardiac Care training. Whether you are a healthcare professional, teacher, trainer, workplace emergency responder, or simply want to learn how to save a life, the AHA® has a course for you. The UNF Division of Continuing Education now offers CPR, BLS, ACLS, PALS and First Aid classes taught by a team of professional EMTs, paramedics, nurses and veteran EMS educators. All classes are taught by certified American Heart Association Instructors and are held at Advanced Cardiac Training, Northeast Florida’s leading provider of official AHA classes. Advanced Cardiac Training’s teaching facility is located at 1500 Beach Blvd., Suite 224, in Jacksonville Beach, 32250; one block east of the Adventure Landing Water Park. Map it!

BLS for Healthcare Providers
Learn how to save lives of victims in cardiac arrest through high-quality CPR. This hands-on course teaches the latest CPR techniques using the American Heart Association’s 2010 guidelines for adults, children and infants. This course prepares healthcare professionals to perform CPR in both in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.
Earn this valuable American Heart Association certification while exploring the most recent advances in resuscitation science. Our AHA®-trained instructors teach students how to improve the quality of care for adult victims of cardiac arrest and other cardiopulmonary emergencies. Students enhance their skills in the treatment of arrest and peri-arrest patients through active participation in a series of simulated cardiac and respiratory cases.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Earn this valuable American Heart Association certification while exploring the most recent advances in pediatric resuscitation science. The PALS Course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. These include personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, paramedics and others who need a PALS course completion card for job or other requirements.

Heartsaver® CPR and AED
This course is designed for anyone who may respond to a life-threatening emergency in the workplace, home or anywhere people gather. This class teaches the latest American Heart Association® techniques in CPR, including foreign-body airway obstruction (choking). Students also learn how to recognize the signs of cardiac arrest and operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Our highly-trained paramedics make this a fast-paced, interactive class.
Heartsaver® CPR, AED and First Aid
This course builds on the Heartsaver CPR/AED curriculum with additional modules covering First Aid techniques vital for workplace safety. You'll learn how to respond to a life-threatening emergency in the workplace, home or anywhere people gather.
Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens
This course teaches employees how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials and is designed for anyone with a reasonable chance of coming into contact with bloodborne pathogens. It meets Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction.
The American Heart Association® strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in CPR and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association®, and any fees charged for such a course do not represent income to the association.
