Litigation Support Specialist

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Hours: 8am – 9am
Pay: $25 - $30 p/hr DOE

Job Description:
The Litigation Support team provides services to legal, HR and the business. Support for HR and the business consists of performing searches against the email archive as well as workstations. Legal support includes, but is not limited to the following:

Early Case Assessment

  • Review of subpoenas and discovery requests
  • Utilization of technology for early case assessment (ECA)
  • Subject matter expertise on discovery 
Discovery Management
  • Serve as point of contact for managing the collection of all data regarding subpoenas and discovery requests for legal matters
  • Work with internal and external counsel to document exactly what data needs to be collected
  • Build specifications for technical application team for the extraction of data
  • Verify extracted/collected data for validity
Discovery Review
  • Work with counsel on the specifics of the matter and the approach to be taken during document review
  • Utilize our review and production software for culling and coding documents 
  • Consult on document preservation standards and EDRM compliance
Legal Hold Management
  • Serve as a member of the Legal Hold team, representing Litigation Support
  • Utilize legal knowledge in complaint review and legal hold assessment
  • Consult with attorneys on the scope of Discovery, including custodians and data sources subject to the legal hold
  • Track and update legal holds as they are issued and released
Job Requirements:

Paralegal, Foreclosure Litigation

Brock & Scott, PLLC is seeking a paralegal for their Jacksonville office, to move a caseload towards entry of Judgment in the most efficient way while keeping in compliance with courts and clients. 


Primary responsibilities include: 

  • Draft legal documents, pleadings, correspondence to court and case parties. This includes preparation of Affidavits, Assignments, Amended Complaints, Drops/Defaults, Motion for Summary Judgment and Final Judgment packages, initial drafts of responses to discovery, defense motions, and affirmative defenses.
  • Update clients daily via email and/or applicable systems such as Black Knight fka LPS, Lenstar, Vendorscape, RealResolution, Quandis. Complete or reproject assigned tasks, address all messages and issues.
  • Request flat and hourly fees from clients, follow-up as necessary, receive, and record fee approval internally. Ensure proper billing entries for tasks performed on a file.
  • Maintain hearing calendar by ensuring attendance to all court events, advance preparation of hearing packages, and immediate processing of hearing results. Calendar and meet all deadlines.
  • Comply with client directives, Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, court Orders, and Firm policies. 
  • Maintain physical and electronic files. Update all applicable case milestones. 
Required: High School graduate required
Preferred: Some college or certification preferred

Required: 2-3 years of stable work experience as a paralegal required
Preferred: 5 years preferred
