Graduate School Student Handbook
Welcome!
Congratulations on your admissions to the UNF Graduate School! Your success is our success! We proudly support the graduate programs and students like you in pursuit of the highest level academic discourse and research. Once admitted, many graduate students never need our assistance directly. Your department and Graduate Program Director will and should become your primary resource. Some students will work directly with us by attending one of our Graduate Lecture Series (GLS) events or during the writing and submissions of their theses and dissertations. Other students come by when they don’t know where else to go for an answer or even just to share ideas. We welcome all inquiries, will help you find a solution, and are deeply invested in your academic development so please do not hesitate to contact us.
In addition to this guide, you are advised to read your Departmental Graduate Student Handbook as it is specific to your program. While the Graduate School Student Handbook contains valuable information related to your graduate experience, your department’s Graduate Student Handbook addresses requirements for you particular program of study and is a valuable resource as you pursue your graduate degree. It is your responsibility to review the information both in this handbook and in your Departmental Graduate Student Handbook as you will be held responsible for abiding by its content.
Student Responsibility to Stay Informed
It is the student's responsibility to keep informed of all rules, regulations, and procedures required for graduate studies. Graduate program regulations will not be waived or exceptions granted because students plead ignorance of the regulations or claim failure of the adviser to keep them informed. As such, students are responsible for reading both the Graduate School Student Handbook and their individual departmental Graduate Program Student Handbook and will be held responsible for abiding by their contents.
