Sumona Balla chose the University of North Florida for Graduate School because of the MS Computing and Information Sciences program’s “unique blend of computer science and business courses.” Sumona enjoys the small class sizes that allow for individual attention from professors. She also has jumped into the extra-curricular activities provided on campus such as being the Event Manager of the Osprey South Asian Association and becoming involved with the Volunteer Center as well as the Photo Club.
Sumona’s advice for student’s considering graduate school is, “Do your homework so that you know what the school is all about – the programs, coursework, funding opportunities, faculty and so on. Contact the school personnel, better yet visit the university if possible to ensure that the program/school is for you or not.”
On a Personal Note:
Where’s the best place on campus to unwind?
On a sunny day, I like to be outdoors- lie on the grass or sit by the lake and relax.
What do you do when you need a break from studying?
I enjoy photography, listening to music and watching comedy T.V. shows such as Friends, Big Bang Theory, Everybody Loves Raymond, and more. They are always refreshing and help to get right back to the study track.
