| THE PROGRAM |
| Program Overview | To support the improvement of education through a variety of leadership roles, the College of Education and Human Services at the University of North Florida offers a program leading to the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in educational leadership. The Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership program draws from a number of departments and other instructional resources of the university. The program consists of course work in interdisciplinary foundations, leadership, research methodologies, and a cognate (or minor) area. The completion of a dissertation is the capstone project of the degree program. |
| Special Notes about the Program | Please note that there is a separate application packet required for this program. Please contact the Department of Counseling and Educational Leadership at (904) 620-2990 to have the application packet sent to you. Please return this packet to the Graduate School as part of your application packet. A faculty recommendation is required. The faculty recommendation shall be made based on the evaluation of the stated admission criteria listed below and the following: - screening committee's evaluation of the applicant's written responses to a set of questions,
- the applicant's writing based on the requested paper submitted,
- and the applicant's performance during a targeted-selection interview with program faculty.
An applicant who does not meet the stated criteria for admission to the doctoral program may request review of his/her application by submitting a letter detailing the reasons that an exception to the admission policy should be granted. This letter should be submitted to the Doctoral Program Director prior to the closing date for receipt of applications. The letter will become part of the application and be reviewed during the student selection process. |
