Admission Requirements


University requirements:


  • A baccalaureate degree in nutrition from an ACEND accredited U.S. institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher in all work attempted in the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate study


Additional program requirements:


  • Official transcripts from all attended institutions


  • GRE scores (Institutional Code: 5490):
    • Prior to July 1, 2011: combined score of 1000
    • After July 1, 2011: 153 verbal, 144 quantitative




  • The Internship component requires a separate application through DICAS and students must participate in the D & D Computer Matching process for internship admission. Students should be aware that admission into any graduate program is granted on a competitive basis. Students meeting minimum requirements may be denied admission based on such factors as program capacity or academic discretion. Likewise, students may be considered for admission as an exception if stated admissions criteria are not met.

Program Overview

Applicants to the MS in Nutrition & Dietetics Dietetic Internship option are persons with a baccalaureate degree in nutrition from a U.S. regionally accredited institution and ACEND/CADE accredited program who want to complete their ACEND accredited 1200 hour supervised practice experience in coordination with related graduate coursework. This Master of Science in Nutrition & Dietetic Dietetic Internship (MS/DI) option enables graduates from ACEND accredited didactic programs in dietetics to fulfill the requirement for pre-professional practice experience and become eligible to sit for the National Registration Examination, while simultaneously completing a master's degree in nutrition. Some courses will be offered online and others in a hybrid format.

Fifteen students are admitted each fall to this 4-semester, full-time program. Students must complete both the master's degree and internship experience in order to receive a verification statement and sit for the National Registration Examination.
