| Admission Requirements | University requirements: - A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or its equivalent from a foreign institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher in all work attempted in the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate study.
Additional program requirements: - Official transcripts from all attended institutions
- A 2-3 page personal statement describing:
- reasons for seeking an M.S.H. in Geriatric Management
- career objectives
- information you believe is pertinent to your admission
- Resume including:
- education
- work experience
- honors, memberships in school, profession and service organizations
- Competitive GRE or GMAT scores
- Test scores may be waived for applicants holding a professional degree (i.e. M.D., J.D., D.D.S) from a U.S. accredited institution or for applicants with more than ten years of increasingly responsible positions in the healthcare or aging services industries.
Students should be aware that admission into any graduate program is granted on a competitive basis. Students meeting minimum requirements may be denied admission based on such factors as program capacity or academic discretion. Likewise, students may be considered for admission as an exception if stated admissions criteria are not met. |
| THE PROGRAM |
| Program Overview | The Master of Science in Health: Geriatric Management is designed for individuals who are interested in pursuing or in advancing careers in the aging health services area. Geriatric Management involves a program of study consisting of a minimum of 39 semester hours with coursework combining aging and health administration courses. |
| Special Notes about the Program | The program curriculum has been designed to meet the educational and internship requirements of the Florida Board of Nursing Home Administrators for eligibility for admission to the Nursing Home Administrator Licensure Examination. |
