Movies on the House

“Come to the light!”

Welcome to Movies on the House, also known as "MOTH" around campus. The mission of MOTH is to get us away from squinting at our small screens, and put us in front of movies as they are meant to be seen –large screen, big sound, 35mm,  with popcorn, and with a group of folks who love film.

We schedule films every other Thursday evening at 7 p.m. This year we are so pleased to house our series for the first time on campus, in our very own  Robinson Theater, with  surround sound and 35mm projection.  MOTH is free to all UNF students, faculty, staff and guests. Free popcorn , Free Prizes, Free your Mind!

Movies on the House is funded by the President’s Office and by Academic Affairs, and is dedicated to having us watch films together that you might not get to see in commercial theaters. In the perpetual cinematic fight between Art and Industry, Movies on the House wants to get in a few punches on the side of art.

A film poem inspired by the Peruvian poet César Vallejo. A story about our need for love, our confusion, greatness and smallness and, most of all, our vulnerability. It is a story with many characters, among them a father and his mistress, his youngest son and his girlfriend. It is a film about big lies, abandonment and the eternal longing for companionship and confirmation.

FREE POPCORN, FREE PRIZES, FREE YOUR MIND!  Drinks will be on sale.
We want to know from you how to make the theater experience at Robinson even better than a commercial theater.
