Known Issues in Blackboard Release 9.1 SP11

Campus Pack Blogs and Wikis set up using the 'One Per Group' or 'One Per Person' Deployment options do not allow other students to view and comment even though I have set permissions to allow them to do so.
This is a known issue in which the permissions are actually correct, but the links are not visible to students, so they cannot access. There are a couple of workarounds available:
- Manually create each Blog/Wiki, rather than using the 'One Per Group' or 'One Per Person' Deployment and set editing/viewing permissions as desired. Contact CIRT for assistance if desired.
- After setting up using the 'One Per Group' or 'One Per Person' Deployment option, create a new content area to house links to each Blog/Wiki and manually create links by copying/pasting the URLs (Directions)
Course copied Blackboard Collaborate sessions do not work.
This issue has been reported to Blackboard Collaborate and we are working with the vendor on a solution. Workaround: Convert recording to MP4 orMP3 and publish in desired course with the ShareStream tool.

Blackboard Collaborate is not intended to be course copied.
- For a session it is recommended that you create new sessions for each course and not attempt to copy them.
- For recordings it is recommended to create a guest link to the recording you want to copy and embed that link in the destination course. Click here for the full instructions on using a Guest Link.
Unavailable Group Discussion Forums are visible to students but produce an Access Denied error when clicked.

This is a known issue and Blackboard is investigating a suitable solution/work around.
Users receive a “Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely?” message and must click “No” in order to see all content using Internet Explorer 8.

Security prompts display when accessing content that is outside of a Blackboard course. When you see the following prompt: “Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely?”, you should click the "No" button, as long as you trust the source. Clicking "Yes" will result in some content not displaying in the course or in a "Navigation cancelled" message if there is no secure content on the page.
Users receive a “Only secure content is displayed” message and are redirected to the Course Homepage when they select “Show all content” in Internet Explorer 9

Security prompts display when accessing content that is outside of a Blackboard course. When you see the following prompt: “Only secure content is displayed”, you should click the “Show all content” button, as long as you trust the source.
Internet Explorer 8 users cannot access Blackboard Collaborate sessions.

Internet Explorer 8 returns the following security warning when users click to join an Blackboard Collaborate session: "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer blocked this site from downloading files to your computer. Click Here for options." When students select "Download file," they are returned to the Course Homepage rather than being launched into the Collaborate session. Workaround: Use Firefox or add *elluminate.com to your trusted sites in the security settings in Internet Explorer and in the Internet options security tab enable "Automatic prompting for file downloads."
Feedback in test results does not whether or not question was answered correctly.

Individual response feedback does indicate correct response.
Images in Announcements do not render when emailed

Investigating
Due Dates Do Not Update in My Blackboard - Alerts

Investigating- due dates update correctely in all other locations (e.g. Assignments, Calendar)
Changing browser zoom level can result in truncated Grade Center columns

Workaround: Reset zoom level to 100%, log out of Blackboard, close browser, restart browser, and log back in.
Course Reports Do Not Include Data for Past 24 hours

Investigating; no known workaround.
Course Reports Do Not Include Data for End Date

Workaround: Extend end reporting date by 24 hours.
Collaboration Chat Sessions automatically close when idle

Collaboration Chat tool is suitable for meetings at specific times, but use Blackboard Collaborate for Office Hours or other sessions which may have long idle periods.
Intermittent Blackboard Collaborate web tour errors

During a Blackboard Collaborate web tour session users may receive a pop-up message indicating "Error, the eLiveBrowser.exe has stopped working". Click through this message and your Blackboard Collaborate session will resume normally.
In the GradeCenter, the Attempt Statistics report for Tests & Surveys only prints first page.

Known Issue; fix expected in SP13
Students are Unable to Embed Audio/Video Media in Discussion Posts

When a student attempts to embed media into a discussion post suct as a MP3 audio file or MP4 video file it will not post properly. At the time the student attempts to submit the post they will see the media, but afterwards when the post is opened the embedded content is missing.
Media embedded in a Text box editor using the Insert/Edit Embedded Media tool does not work as expected

Instead of Insert Media tool, use Mashups>Sharestream Media tool.
In the Firefox browser: In My Blackboard, the the Show/Hide Notifications Menu on the Updates page does not display properly in Firefox. It may be missing a scroll bar, the text my be garbled, and/or the Save & Cancel buttons are nonfunctional.

This is a known issue in SP11, 12 & 13. A fix is expected in SP14. Workaround: Login to Blackboard from another web browser such as Google Chrome. Change and save the notifications settings
ShareStream issues
1. Slow loading times when searching ShareStream Mashup or creating a ShareStream Media Assignment
2. Mashup Search is not pulling back any results for some courses and users.
3. The embed link in the Pick-n-Play tool prompts for a username and password.
4. Comments can be deleted by students
5. The contributor checkbox is unselected after the first item is uploaded.
A security message comes up after clicking on some Web Links in Blackboard.

There is a known issue with the Web Links in Blackboard where if you leave it set to not open in a new window you will receive a security message. The security message will ask that you click the link below and it will then open the link in a new window. The vendor is working on this issue and expects to have a fix before SP13.
