FAQs for Community and Visitors


  • Is the library open to visitors?
    The Carpenter Library is open to visitors and members of the community.
  • May I check out a book?
    You must be a student or faculty/staff member to check out books.  There are special memberships.  Here is the Library's Borrowing Privileges Policy with more information.
  • May I use the library's computers?
    Yes.  You may log in to the library computers as a guest, but UNF students, faculty and staff have first preference.  If all computers are in use, we will ask you to give your computer to a student.
  • Does the Carpenter Library have federal and state government documents?
    Yes, the library is a federal and state depository library.  Here is more information about UNF's documents holdings.
  • What about parking?

    Parking for visitors is available.

     

    Parking permits for guests are required from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday and from 7 a.m. through 5 p.m. on Friday. 

     

    No permit is required from 5 p.m. Friday through 7 a.m. Monday unless there is a special event on campus.
