Understanding Generations at Work
1 Hour
Register
Today’s workforce is comprised of five major generations – Veterans, Silent, Baby Boomers, Generation X, and Generation Y. Each generation has a unique way of responding to life and to work — from how an employee dresses to their work ethic to respect for authority. Increasingly, generational differences are causing conflict and frustration in many organizations, and may interfere with the way we communicate and how we treat one another.

Learning Objectives: Describe characteristics of the five generational groups found in the workplace, identify the different communication styles and approaches to work-life issues, review strategies for improved interaction among the generations, review tips for managers recruiting, orienting, developing and training multiple generations.
Audience: A&P, Faculty, USPS, OPS, Student OPS
