icon Instructor Becoming More Assertive

Being assertive is the ability to confidently express one's thoughts, feelings and actions without negatively impacting others. Effective and productive interpersonal communication skills are essential in the development of assertive skills. This course outlines strategies for becoming assertive without being aggressive.

Learning Objectives: Understand the difference between assertive and aggressive behavior, understand the rules for valuing yourself and others, learn new skills for being assertive, learn how to say no without offending others, learn how to give and receive criticism.
Audience: A&P, Faculty, USPS, OPS, Student OPS
