    Building An Effective Team
    1 Hour    		 Register
    Team Building has been recognized by many companies as an important factor in providing a quality service and remaining competitive. Yet the term 'team building' can sometimes seem rather nebulous; people often know that they need it, but aren't quite sure what it is. This seminar discusses successful team building, which creates effective, focused work teams.

    Learning Objectives: Learn the definition of team, characteristics of a good team, stages and dynamics of team building, 12 C’s of effective teams and reinforcing team efforts.

    Junkyard Games
    3 Hours    		 Register
    Ever hear the expression "One man's junk is another man's treasure?"  Nothing could be truer in this hands-on, team-based activity that focuses on creative problem solving and innovation.  In the spirit of the Olympics, teams will be competing in an international table-top game competition.  There's just one catch, you have to create the game from assorted "junk" you are given and the other teams have to play it.  Oh, and did we mention that you get to create the history, flag and anthem for the country you create?  Come join us for an experience of fun, innovation and team-building as you play Junkyard Games.

    Tall Ships Simulation: Building Effective Teams
    3 Hours    		 Register
    Tall Ships is a fast paced simulation game that challenges teams to apply various concepts and learn how to enhance team performance. Working in small groups, you will take part in several rounds of activity that require you to plan and work together to complete tasks. You will learn about clarifying goals, collaboration, roles and responsibilities, communication, commitment, innovation, and dealing with change. We’ll reflect on and discuss how to apply our new learning to your real-life team situation. Work teams are invited to register for this workshop and will work together.

    The Five Functions of a Team
    Level 1 Beginning - 4 Hours    		 Register
    This session is designed to help departments achieve synergy and become a more effective team. Participants will complete the DISC assessment; understand their behavior style and its effects on the team. Team members will rate the trust level of the team; identify the reasons behind this rating; and determine actions that can improve the level of trust among members.
    Audience: These sessions are open to all departments. Chairs and directors interested in having their department participate in these sessions may call (904) 620-1707.

    The Five Functions of a Team
    Level 2 Intermediate - 4 Hours    		 Register
    Teamwork remains the ultimate competitive advantage in any organization. This session will introduce participants to the five functions of a team: building trust, mastering conflict, achieving commitment, embracing accountability, and focusing on results. Participants will be given tools to help them contribute to these functions.
