Thank you for being apart of the UNF family! As a family member you have the opportunity of purchasing a permit prior to the student permit sales date. Permit sale dates can be viewed through Osprey Update for Faculty and Staff and below on this web page. Purchase your permit as soon as it goes on sale because the more desirable permits, such as Faculty/Staff, tend to sell out quickly. Other permit categories such as Blue, Gray and Motorcycle will continue to be available to faculty and staff.
Faculty and Staff may purchase their parking permit beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, April 10. To purchase, click here.
Starting on August 16, 2017 your parking permit will be virtual! Physical permits will no longer be used and your vehicles's license plate number will be your permit. For additional virtual permit information, please click on the FAQ link for Faculty/Staff Virtual Permit.

Enforcement activity is Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. No permit is required from 5 p.m. Friday through 7 a.m. Monday unless there is a special event on campus. To verify special events, Master Calendar.
If visiting the University Center for a special event or class, no permit is required to park in Lot 16 (located in front of the center).
The preferred payment method is by using the 24-payment payroll deduction. This is pre-taxed and allows for any changes to the account, such as upgrades and permit returns, to be much easier. Or you may pay with a one-time deduction or pay the full amount owed with a MasterCard, VISA, American Express or Discover credit card. All transactions must be completed online.
Please click on Permit Info to verify valid parking locations with purchased permits.
An Annual permit year includes August 16 till August 15 of the following year. For example, the 2017-18 permit year begins August 16, 2017 and will expire August 15, 2018. Unlike a Term permit, which may last from five to six months. For example, the 2017 Spring Term permits started selling December 5, 2016 and will expire April 14, 2017.
Parking with an expired permit will result in a citation.
If you have a hanging permit, please hang it from your rear-view mirror with the permit number facing out. It must be clearly visible to our parking patrollers. If you have a sun shield/shade, please make sure that it doesn't block the permit's visibility from the exterior of the car.
For an affixed style permit to be valid for parking at UNF, it must be displayed unaltered and it must be permanently affixed using the permit's adhesive properties to the exterior glass of the vehicle. It is recommended to adhere the sticker on the exterior of the driver's side rear window or on the driver's side rear bumper so that is clearly visible to the parking patrollers. Using any type of tape other than the permit's adhesive will result in a citation.
For unusually constructed vehicles, please contact the Parking & Transportation Services (904) 620-2815 for any exceptions to this required permit placement. It is crucial that the permit must be clearly visible when the vehicle is parked on campus. Parking with rear bumper up against a wall in a garage such that a permit affixed to the rear bumper cannot be seen or having a tool box in a pick-up obscuring the view of a permit affixed to the rear window are examples of offenses that will result in parking citations.
If you are a 9-month faculty or staff employee using the 24-payment plan, be sure to turn it in at Parking & Transportation Services, Building 52 at the end of the year and stop your payments. This also applies to any employee, for whatever reason, no longer wishes to park in University garages and lots.
If you terminate employment with the University or other circumstances result in you no longer requiring a UNF parking permit, you may be eligible for a partial refund. If you selected the regular pay deduction method to pay for your parking permit, you can return your permit and deductions will cease following your next pay. If the permit is not returned upon terminating employment with the University, the remaining amount owed to cover the annual price will be deducted from your final pay. If the permit is not returned upon termination and the final pay does not cover the amount owed, the remaining amount owed will be immediately due and payable in full. No refund is available after termination. No refund is available if you chose to pay for your permit with cash or with a one-time pay deduction.
If you have the hanging style permit, you may transfer it to a temporary vehicle.
For an affixed permit: If your four-wheeled vehicle is in the shop and you are driving a four-wheeled loaner, visit Parking & Transportation Services, Building 52 to obtain a temporary permit valid for one day. If you need a temporary permit for more than one day, you will need to provide a note from the repair shop stipulating the duration of repairs. You may obtain up to six temporary parking permits per semester per parking account from Parking Services, Building 52.
The temporary issued permit will be of the same permit category of the original purchased permit. If the back windshield or rear bumper with the affixed permit is broken or if you sell your vehicle, bring the permit or pieces of it to Parking & Transportation Services, Building 52 to obtain the same category replacement parking permit for free. If your primary vehicle is a two-wheeled motorcycle and it is damaged in an accident, should you choose to drive a four-wheeled vehicle as your primary vehicle going forward, you must pay the full cost of the new permit.
Yes; when a person who owns a valid UNF parking permit arrives on a two-wheeled motorized vehicle, a one-day temporary parking permit can be issued for parking in any motorcycle spaces on campus. The temporary parking permit will be marked by Parking Services as being valid for a motorcycle and motorcycle parking spaces only.
The individual of the two-wheeled vehicle is responsible for the display of the temporary parking permit as they deem appropriate as long as it is completely visible to a person standing next to the vehicle. If the valid UNF parking permit is not displayed, the vehicle will be cited for being in violation. The citation is registered to the license tag owner and they must either pay or appeal the citation.
If you have a visitor or colleague visiting campus, inform them to purchase a $5 Daily Permit from one of the parking information booths located at the I-295 (9A) and Kernan Boulevard campus entrances. Assigned and restricted parking areas will be listed on the Daily Permit. No visitor permit is required on weekends, unless there is a special event happening. Multiple-consecutive-day permits are also available at Parking & Transportation Services, Building 52.
You can also make advance arrangements for a guest. For more information, Registered Guest Parking.
