FACULTY AND STAFF CAN NOW PURCHASE PARKING PERMITS FOR  2012-2013.

PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY BEFORE PURCHASING A PARKING PERMIT.

Parking Services is offering UNF faculty and staff the opportunity to purchase parking permits for the 2012-2013 year. The Parking Advisory Council and Parking Services will be reassessing in the fall of 2012 and, if necessary, improving this program for future years.  Please provide any input you may have to your Parking Advisory Council representative and /or to Parking Services.

Purchase can be completed now, permits will be mailed in early August to the address chosen on the purchase form and, for those selecting a payroll deduction method of payment, deductions will commence with the first payroll in September.

While student permits will be externally affixed stickers for 2012-13, the permits mailed to faculty and staff will continue to be hanging, transferable permits.  For those wanting a fixed permit, the hanging permit can be exchanged for a fixed permit at the Parking Services office (building 52 in lot 100).  While fixed permits cannot be transferred from vehicle to vehicle, they do offer added security against loss or theft.

As part of the process, faculty and staff have three options for payment of 2012-13 parking permits.

OPTION #1:      Regular Payroll Deduction

1/24 of the annual cost of the permit will be deducted from each payroll including the third payroll of the month starting with the first payroll in September or the payroll immediately following the mailing of the permit, whichever is later.

OPTION #2:     One-time Payroll Deduction

The full permit cost will be deducted from the first payroll in September or the payroll immediately following the mailing of the permit, whichever is later (cost will not be prorated for a partial year.)

USING OPTION #1 OR OPTION #2 (PAYROLL DEDUCTION METHOD) IS THE BEST VALUE AS THE PURCHASE IS PRE-TAX AND ALLOWS FOR  PURCHASE NOW WITHOUT PAYING UNTIL SEPTEMBER.

OPTION #3:     Pay by Credit Card, Debit Card or e-Check

The selection of Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express will be available as will the opportunity to use the on-line e-Check system.

The account will be charged immediately upon purchase, but the permit will not be mailed until early August.

Only one permit per individual may be purchased except that for "Lot 14/18/53 Only" permits and motorcycle permits which are not limited in the amount purchased.

Parking permits will expire August 15, 2013 and will be sold at the following prices at the noted ratios. The ratio refers to the number of permits that will be sold for each available space within that category.

The President may allow public parking on the first floor of the garages for specific special events. In such cases every effort will be made to consider campus-user needs and to restrict public parking to a single garage, leaving the other garage open to first floor parking permit holders.

Day permits will be sold that allow parking in categories D and E. These Day permit sales will impact the noted ratio for category D.

Purchase of a permit does not guarantee the holder a space within the category purchased.

Available spaces and permits offered for sale are estimates and may change based on decisions to utilize areas for different purposes than anticipated, however, an attempt will be made to retain the noted ratios.

A small number of Premium permits will be held from sales to accommodate disability needs, new hires during the year and other special requirements.
