Approval for Marketing Materials

The University of North Florida stands for many things:  hands-on transformational learning opportunities, small class sizes, healthful living and learning, and beautiful natural surroundings.The University is nationally ranked in a number of areas, particularly those relating to value and quality. We have all worked hard to ensure that when people see, hear or read something about UNF, they think about all the positive ways we enhance our community and the region. We want them to think positively about our brand.


Our brand is our reputation. It’s what comes to mind when people hear  “University of North Florida.” The Marketing and Publications office can provide you with the tools to help package our message with that authentic UNF look, feel and sound, giving you a consistent and professional message. 


The Marketing and Publications office is responsible for the external image of the University of North Florida.There is a real need to present the University as consistently as possible through marketing, publications, advertisement, promotional items and consistent branding that help our stakeholders identify certain attributes associated with UNF.


Marketing and Publications is required to work with each department to create or review all marketing publications, advertisements, television and radio scripts, and promotional items, as well as branding on staff and event shirts and signage advertising campus events.



There are a few exceptions to the Marketing Materials, Promotional Items and Advertising Approval process. These are:  Student Government entities (Lend-A-Wing Pantry, Osprey Productions, Club Alliance and Club Funding.) Also exempt are the three branches of Student Government, Student Government Elections, Spinnaker Media, as well as individual fraternities and sororities.  


Marketing and promotional items/publications

If you have printed materials, branded items, promotional products, or advertising that you are considering producing, you must get approval PRIOR to final production. You must complete the approval form, found here. Please submit it to Marketing Approval  and provide a draft/mock-up if available. The request will be reviewed and returned with an approval and signature or a reason for disapproval within three business days. Please plan accordingly. When the decision has been made to advertise, simply contact the director of Publications and Communication, Isabel Pease. From there, the marketing staff will help craft your message, weave in the UNF brand, add the UNF logo and any other graphic images or photography that will catch a reader’s eye.
