Gordon F. M. Rakita

Occupation:

Associate professor of anthropology in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology; currently president of UNF Faculty Association; past program coordinator for Anthropology at UNF; former principal investigator and analytical director for SWCA Environmental Consultants of Flagstaff, Ariz.

Education:

B.A. in anthropology from University of North Carolina at Greensboro; M.A. and Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of New Mexico.

Activities:

Co-director of the 76 Draw Archaeological Project, New Mexico; director UNF’s Community Cemetery Project; 2011-2012 Outstanding Faculty Service Award; 2005-2006 Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award; associate editor for the Society for American Archaeology Press.

Personal:

He and wife, Cally, have two children.
