Oscar Munoz

Oscar MunozOscar Munoz, of Jacksonville, has been the executive vice president and chief operating officer of CSX since January 2012. He manages all aspects of the company's operations across its 21,000-mile network, including transportation, service design, customer service, engineering, mechanical and technology. Prior to his current role, Mr. Munoz served as CSX's executive vice president and chief financial officer from 2003 to 2012. Before joining CSX in 2003, Mr. Munoz served as chief financial officer and vice president of AT&T Consumer Services. He also has held key executive positions with other consumer products companies including the Coca-Cola Company and Pepsico Corporation.  Mr. Munoz is a member of the board of directors and chair of the Audit Committee for Continental Airlines and a member of the board of directors for Outward Bound USA. He has twice been recognized – in 2001 and 2006 – as one of the 100 most influential Hispanics by Hispanic Business magazine.  Mr. Munoz is actively engaged in the United Way of Northeast Florida. He earned a B.A. from the University of Southern California in 1982, and a M.B.A. at Pepperdine University. Mr. Munoz was appointed to the UNF Board of Trustees by the Board of Governors in 2010 for a term ending January 6, 2015.
