Item 1 Call to Order
Chair Taylor called the meeting to order and offered appreciation to all trustees participating.
Item 2 Update on BOT Appointment
Chair Taylor stated that he and President Delaney had been in communication with certain members of the Board of Governor’s (BOG) and the Chancellor regarding the BOG nominating committee’s appointment to UNF’s Board. Chair Taylor stated that he had articulated to everyone that while UNF’s Board was not displeased with the nominee, it did feel that greater attention should have been given to the recommendations from the UNF BOT.
Chair Taylor stated that Ms. Carolyn Roberts, Chair of the Florida Board of Governors, personally acknowledged the need for improved communication. Chair Roberts gave assurance that UNF could expect a better process for future appointments.
Chair Taylor stated that he felt optimistic that there would be a more constructive process in the future.
Item 3 Update on Tuition
Chair Taylor and members of the Board discussed the ramifications of the 5 percent tuition increase.
Item 4 Announcement
Vice President Serwatka stated that the Board of Governor’s would be holding their September 26-27th meeting on UNF’s campus. He said that there would be opportunities for trustees to interact with the BOG at that time. Specific details would be forthcoming.
