Before a student can register, they must acknowledge that they understand they are financially responsible for tuition, fees and other University charges. This is the Statement of Financial Responsibility:
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY for TUITION, FEES and OTHER UNIVERSITY CHARGES
This statement of Financial Responsibility is an agreement between me and the University of North Florida. I agree that I am receiving an educational benefit and that I have an obligation to pay any outstanding balances on my account. I agree to repay funds received as an overpayment or loan. I also agree that I have an obligation to pay my educational benefit that may result from any negative financial reversals or non-payment from federal, state, institutional or other third-party providers. I further understand that I am responsible for any costs associated with the processing of a third party payment on my behalf. I understand that failure to officially drop class(es) during the add/drop period will not relieve me of the financial obligation for those class(es).
Students registering for classes or obtaining goods and services through the University of North Florida are advised that the Cashier’s Office communicates all financial account information via electronic services using online secured portals via myWings at www.unf.edu and sends you important notices via your UNF e-mail account. You should review your account history available on myWings prior to registering for classes and before the tuition payment deadline each semester. Deadlines and policy information are available at our website http://www.unf.edu/dept/controller/cashier/cashier.htm
It is your responsibility to review your UNF account status and e-mail account weekly.
The Cashier’s Office provides account information electronically for the following categories, and more:
Students will receive an e-mail notification to their UNF e-mail account when their account has a balance due. It is your responsibility to review your account and make payment by the published deadline. Students who have not paid their fees or made payment arrangements prior to the tuition payment deadline will be charged a $100 late payment fee.
If your account becomes delinquent, you understand that you will not be allowed to register for the next semester nor receive transcripts. If you are a graduating student you will not receive a diploma. In addition, you will be responsible for all past tuition and fees as well as collection costs, including penalties, interest, attorney’s fees and court costs. These costs may add over 33 1/3 percent to the balance due. All litigation of disputes of these charges will be done in the State of Florida, Duval County.
