Student e-mail, called Ospreys E-mail, will be upgraded to Microsoft Office 365 beginning June 24 and is expected to take three days. This will provide students with 25 gigabytes of space for e-mail and a separate SkyDrive account with which to access Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and One Note web applications. Students will be able to access their Ospreys E-mail account during the upgrade. Students will be sent an e-mail before the upgrade with the details.
Students who use the SkyDrive to store files should go to http://outlook.com BEFORE Monday, June 24 and enter a unique password to ensure uninterrupted access to their SkyDrive files.
The Short Summary (Stuff you REALLY need to read)
After the upgrade, you will have two separate accounts - one for your Ospreys E-mail and another for your SkyDrive (called your Personal Microsoft Account).
- If you use the SkyDrive to store files, you should go to http://outlook.com BEFORE Monday, June 24 and enter a unique password. This will ensure uninterrupted access to your SkyDrive files.
- After the upgrade, when you access your Ospreys E-mail account from within myWings, you will see a login box. Enter your Ospreys E-mail address, which is your N Number@ospreys.unf.edu (example: n00123456@ospreys.unf.edu). You'll be redirected to a new login page that will already have your Ospreys E-mail address listed. Type your myWings password to login to your e-mail account.
- If you read your Ospreys E-mail on a mobile device, after the upgrade, you'll need to update the server address and password so it will continue to sync your e-mail. Change the server address from "outlook.com" to "mail.office365.com" (don't include the quotation marks). Your password will be your myWings password.
- After the upgrade, you'll access your SkyDrive files at http://skydrive.live.com. Your username will be your Ospreys E-mail address, which is your N Number@ospreys.unf.edu (example: n00123456@ospreys.unf.edu). Your password is whatever you set it to (see the second bullet above). If you do not know this password, click on "Can't access your account?" below the login area at http://skydrive.live.com .
- You will receive another e-mail from us after the upgrade is complete.
- Questions may be directed to the ITS Help Desk at 904-620-4357 (HELP), helpdesk@unf.edu or by visiting them in the Mathews Computer Science Building, Bldg. 15, Room 2102. You may also submit your question or issue online at http://help.unf.edu.
