Scholarship Opportunities in the Chemistry Department

Several scholarships are available for students majoring in chemistry.

Mr. & Mrs. Charles Ged Science Scholarship

This scholarship was not awarded in Chemistry in the 2012 academic year. 

Award: One award of $3000 per academic year for tuition and books

Qualifications:

  • Meet admission requirements and be accepted to UNF
  • Reside in Florida for tuition purposes
  • Declare a major in Chemistry
  • Maintain a minimum 3.25 GPA or higher
  • Enroll full time and earn a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year
  • Comply with all UNF regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus
  • Consent to release of grades for reporting to donor
  • Remain in good standing as a student

Ashland Hercules Water Technologies Scholarship

Natalie Cleaveland, and Kevin Moore were the 2011-2012 recipients. Congratulations! 

Award: Several awards of $500 - $1000 per semester for tuition and books

Qualifications:

  • Meet admissions requirements and be accepted to UNF
  • Reside in Florida for tuition purposes
  • Declare and enroll as a major in Chemistry
  • Fulltime student status taking a minimum of 12 credit hours each term and earn a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year
  • Minimum 3.00 GPA overall and for junior and senior years
  • Comply with all UNF regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus
  • Consent to release of grades for reporting to donor
  • Remain in good standing as a student

Student Summer Fellowship Award

Congratulations to Ana Castro, Mary Hertz and Thomas Vickers who were awarded the three 2012 summer research grants 

Award: Three awards for $1800 for 12 weeks during the summer

Qualifications:

  • Recommendation of faculty research advisor and acceptable research project.
