Madrid, Spain

Madrid is a welcoming city full of contrasts and home to Europe's best nightlife, museums, outstanding cultural life (opera, live concerts, bullfights, theatre and cinemas), restaurants and hundreds of attractive destinations. A combination of styles, customs, food and accents enriches its culture. Be sure to visit one of the world's most outstanding flea markets, El Rastro, where you can find anything from valuable antiques to fashionable clothing, and catch the world-famous tomato fight fiesta every August!

Getting Started

University of Rey Juan Carlos is pleased to host the Ibero–AmericanMBA students. URJC will host an orientation a few days before the semester starts. The orientation will include an overview of the facilities and information on life at URJC and in Madrid. To learn more about URJC watch this video presentation.

Housing

University of Rey Juan Carlos does not currently have on–campus residence halls. Although, there are plans to start building a few in 2010. Using a variety of resources, URJC will assist students with finding accommodations in Madrid. Rent for a shared flat (apartment) ranges from 200–270 Euro per month. It is common to pay one month's rent as a deposit. Renting a single room in a private flat with shared cooking facilities ranges from 200–490 Euro per month. Students should start working on accommodations at least three months prior to arrival in Madrid.

Getting Around

Madrid's public transportation system is very easy to use. This includes an extensive subway and train system, as well as a comprehensive bus system.
