Students should download and complete the following parts of the application. All steps are required for an application to be considered complete. All international students are required to have international insurance with adequate coverage. Students will be automatically enrolled and billed for UNF insurance when they register for classes unless they submit a complete International Insurance Evaluation form by August 1 for the fall semester or November 1 for the spring semester. For this form, the student must ask their insurance provider to complete the International Insurance Evaluation form to verify that the student's coverage meets all UNF requirements. If this evaluation form is not received by the stated deadline, students will be automatically enrolled in the UNF insurance. A copy of your insurance contract is NOT an acceptable substitute for the Insurance Evaluation form. UNF's insurance for the fall 2013 semester is $633 (coverage from Aug. 26 to Jan. 5), and for the spring 2014 semester is $599 (coverage from Jan. 6 to May 11). Alternative insurance for a given semester should cover the student for the same dates covered by UNF insurance.
Students purchasing UNF insurance can pay for the insurance upon arrival in Jacksonville at UNF's cashiers office with cash or check. Students can also pay on myWings with a credit card (UNF does not accept VISA). Students purchasing the UNF insurance can pick up a temporary insurance card at the Office of Medical Compliance. This office can also explain the policy and claims procedure. Details about the cost of UNF insurance, downloadable forms and other information are provided by the Medical Compliance Office.
If you have any questions about this form, please contact the Office of Medical Compliance. This Immunization Form information is required for ALL students on UNF's campus. Students will not be permitted to register for courses until they have provided official documentation for these immunizations. All students born after 1956 must submit documented proof of immunity to Measles and Rubella. There is a detailed explanation of these requirements on page 2 of the Immunization Form.
Students should have the entire form filled out, including prerequisite verification, by the Exchange Officer at their home institution. Courses offered for the upcoming term are posted on the UNF Course Schedule. Choose "Search by Department". The course catalog has brief descriptions of course content and listings of prerequisites.
Completed Course Schedule Requests must also be reviewed and approved by a Coggin Study Abroad Advisor before students will be registered for any courses.
All on-campus housing contracts are submitted on-line via myWings (students will not have access to myWings until their Application Form has been received and processed). In order to submit a complete contract, students are required to make a $300 payment: $100 is a non-refundable processing fee and $200 is a prepayment toward rent. Unfortunately, this payment system does NOT accept VISA , and international credit cards may be subject to additional fees. If students would like to make alternative arrangements to live off-campus, they must note this at the time they submit their application form. Students will be asked to submit the name and location of their alternative housing arrangements. However, it is recommended that exchange students live on UNF's campus.
UNF’s Housing Department has a comprehensive website which describes housing options, accommodations, prices, locations and general information. Students will need to submit a Housing Contract for the appropriate semester. This is a binding contract, so please pay close attention to the cancellation deadline(s). UNF's Housing Department will randomly assign you to a room. Therefore, please also email Caitlin Jaeger when you have submitted an on-line housing contract and include your room preferences. We will inform Housing of your preferred accommodations but we cannot guarantee that you will be placed in your preferred residence hall or room type as stated in your preferences.
Please submit a copy of your transcript (or another document that lists course titles and grades earned) from all universities you have attended. TOEFL certificates are not necessary.
