Derek Guffin, M.S., G.C.D.F. 


Derek is responsible for the overall direction of the Career Management Center. He is in charge of the planning, developing and implementing a comprehensive career management program for the College. He also serves in an advisory capacity, providing coaching and consultation for students and club organizations. Derek collaborates with senior leaders to integrate departmental objectives that impact the university. 

Working with undergraduate students for over a decade, Derek found his true passion helping students find meaning and purpose in the world of work. Both a University of Florida and Florida State alumni, Derek has spent much of his career counseling students to better understand themselves, their major, and how to successfully make the post-college backpack to briefcase transition. A former Florida mascot as an undergraduate, Derek is looking forward to increasing career opportunities and bringing fresh companies to recruit Coggin students.
2018- melinda 

Assistant Director

Melinda assists students with identifying a rewarding career path and the tools they need to be successful. She also collaborates with the Graduate Assistant to provide résumé critiques, career counseling, and workshops for students. In addition, Melinda supports the director with coordinating and promoting the center's exemplary professional development programs: S.T.A.R. (Skills to Achieve Results), Coggin Ambassadors, and the Coggin Mentor Program. 

April Mattedi

Employer Relation Specialist

April serves as a functional point of contact for companies that recruit Coggin College of Business students. She manages all employer campus recruiting initiative including: information sessions, interview dates and hiring socials. April also manages the mock interview program and serves as the event coordinator for all Career Management Center special events. Additionally, April serves as the budget officer for the Center. 

Dee Dee Wyckoff, M. Ed

Internship Coordinator

Dee Dee meets with students regarding internship interest, the internship application process, and promotes the internship program to students in the college. She collaborates with the Assistant Director and the Graduate Assistant to provide career exploration, résumé/cover letter critiques, and various career related workshops to students. In addition, Dee Dee assists with the various events and student programming offered by the center. 

Sabrina Sorrentino

Marketing Intern

Sabrina monitors and produces content for the Career Management Center and Coggin College of Business social media channels. She also helps with marketing projects and special events production in support of the Project Assistant.

Sabrina is double-majoring in Marketing and Management with plans to graduate in spring of 2018. She currently serves as Delta Gamma's Vice President of Finance. She travelled abroad through the Coggin in Italy program and completed a Marketing/Communications internship with Southeastern Grocers in summer of 2017. After graduation, Sabrina hopes to work in a leadership role and pursue her MBA with a focus in Marketing 

Miranda Powell

Graduate Assistant

Miranda serves as the primary point of contact for students and employers wanting to engage with the Career Management Center. In addition to supporting the day to day operations of the Center, she assists with recruiting initiatives including on campus interviewing, special events and professional development programs.

Miranda is currently pursuing her CPA license while she is in the MBA program and plans to graduate in December of 2019. After graduation, Miranda hopes to work in a leadership role within the accounting and finance industry. 

Ian Vergara

Office Assistant

Ian serves as the primary point of contact for students and employers wanting to engage with the Career Management Center. In addition to supporting the day-to-day operations of the Center, he assists with recruiting initiatives including on campus interviewing, special events, and professional development programs.

Ian is currently taking classes towards his Masters of Accounting degree. He has recently obtained his Bachelor’s at UNF with a major in accounting and completed an Assurance internship with PWC. After completion of CPA credit requirements, Ian plans to begin as an Assurance Associate at PWC.
