Coggin Ambassador Program

The Coggin Ambassador Program provides outgoing, connected and ambitious Coggin College students the opportunity to serve as student representatives of the Career Management Center (CMC); they are the student face of the CMC.  Coggin Ambassadors play an integral role in the marketing and execution of programs presented by the Career Management Center (CMC) and the Coggin College of Business.  Events and promotions that Coggin Ambassadors have assisted with in the past include classroom presentations, career fairs, networking events, tabling to promote events, career workshops, fundraising, dean’s office events, STAR Program events, the Coggin hooding ceremony, and off-campus industry events.

By participating in the program, Coggin Ambassadors have the opportunity to network with their peers and business professionals, learn about the job market, and enhance their resumes. It is not uncommon for Coggin Ambassadors to make connections during their term that lead to job or internship opportunities.

Application Process

The Career Management Center staff selects Coggin Ambassadors at the end of the fall and spring semesters for the following semester. Students must submit an application, essay and an updated resume in order to be considered for the program to

Coggin Ambassador Criteria   


Applicant Requirements:

  • S.T.A.R. Certified (or will complete by beginning of term)
  • GPA of 2.75 or higher and in good academic standing
  • Junior, senior, post baccalaureate or graduate student status with a business major
  • Be able to commit 20 hours total over the course of the semester
  • There are no hour requirements for summer; however, there may be opportunities to volunteer for those who are in town. These hours can count towards fall requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Current member and actively involved with a Coggin College of Business Club
  • Strong knowledge regarding the CMC and experience working with the office

Will is majoring in International Business and is an active member of Delta Sigma Pi (a professional fraternity) and alumni member of Phi Delta Theta (a social fraternity at Jacksonville University). Will also studied abroad in Argentina during the Summer of 2014. He has an interest in Finance and Operations. Will enjoys spending his free time hanging with his girlfriend, his friends, and going to the gym. During the summer, Will had an internship with Transamerica Financial Advisors and is working on obtaining his licenses.

Reka is a senior in Marketing with a passion for diversity and applied learning. Her passions have led her to various opportunities, such as becoming the Interim Marketing Director of UNF’s Student United Way, getting involved with the Women in Business Society, becoming a member of Sigma Alpha Pi, participating in the 2014 – 2015 Coggin Mentor Program Cohort, and becoming a 2014 alumni of Leadership Jacksonville’s Collegiate Leadership Experience Program. Hiep is a senior with a major in Accounting and a minor in Economics. Currently serves as Social Director for Alpha Sigma Pi and is also a member for UNF FSA and UNF A.S.I.A. In his free time, he enjoys staying fit and spending time with his friends. After graduation, Hiep will be a returning intern at DHG and aspires to pursue an MBA degree next fall.

Kami is a senior double majoring in International Business and Economics and minoring in Chinese. She currently holds the role of International Projects Director for UNF’s Rotaract Club, and is an active member of the Swoop Squad.  Kami has previously studied abroad in Greece and in China. She has formerly interned at the World Affairs Council of Jacksonville. In her spare time, Kami enjoys spending time with family and friends, running marathons, and painting.

Graduation: Spring 2016

Brendan is a senior and is majoring in Business Management. He is currently active in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity on campus where he has gone up the ranks to Vice President. Brendan has also been involved in the Presidential Envoy Association serving on the finance committee. He also volunteered to be the overall finance chair for the Dance Marathon charity which supports the Children's Miracle Network. Additionally he is a part of the 2015-2016 cohort of the Coggin Mentor Program. In his spare time enjoys wakeboarding, playing sports on the beach, and hanging with friends and family. Upon graduation, he hopes to ultimately earn a position which he can grow with a company to a managerial position with a focus in the finance industry.

Tommy is a senior double majoring in International Business and Finance, with a minor in Spanish and expects to graduate in the Spring of 2016. Tommy has studied abroad in Austria, the Czech Republic and Spain. Tommy believes that as a student of business it is important to learn, understand and embrace cultural differences that are different from his own. Tommy also enjoys traveling, meeting new people, eating new foods, and learning new things. When he is not traveling, Tommy races bicycles throughout the south eastern United States. After Tommy finishes his studies at UNF he hopes to earn his masters in Spain and eventually earn a P.H.D as he would like to one day be a Professor in a business college.

Medina is a senior majoring in Marketing and is expected to graduate in the spring of 2016. She is the first person in her family to attend college. Medina is currently a Marketing Intern for England-Thims & Miller, Inc. and an active member of the Women in Business Society.  In her spare time, she likes to play tennis with her boyfriend. Upon graduation, Medina plans to attend graduate school to obtain her Master's Degree.

Guilherme(Gil) was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil in which he moved to Orlando, Florida as a teenager with his family in due to high education opportunities. He is fluent in Portuguese & Spanish and enjoys learning about different cultures and the diversities the entail. Changing his major and transferred from UCF to UNF specifically for the Transportation & Logistics Flagship Program and its high reputation. Joined the Transportation & Logistics Society his first week of school in 2014, got involved in and out of campus and now is serving his second semester as the Society’s Treasurer. Gil is very involved with the community related in his degree field in which he has been recently awarded The Propeller Club of Jacksonville Student Port of the Year 2014-2015. Throughout his time at UNF, Gill also added a second major (Business Management) and two minors (International Business & Economics), entered the Dean’s list, completed the Coggin Mentor Program and was recently awarded with the JM Family Enterprises Endowed Scholarship. Gil interned at Horizon Lines summer of 2014 and is currently Interning at both Crowley & JaxPort and plan on pursuing his career in the maritime industry. Gil will be graduating in the Spring of 2016 and plans to enrich his involvement in and out of the class room even more until then.

Danijel is a senior majoring in Transportation and Logistics with an expected graduation date of Spring 2016. He is originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina and moved to the United States with him parents and older sister. He and his sister are the first individuals in his family to attend college. Danijel is currently a member of the Transportation and Logistics society. He is proud to be a recipient of the Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarship, UNF Test Prep Scholarship and UNF SWOOP scholarship. He is currently an Operations Intern at Total Military Management. In his free time, Danijel loves to travel, play sports, and hang out with his girlfriend and family. Upon graduating in May 2016, he wants to pursue a career in the logistics field.

Christine is a Senior at The University of North Florida achieving a major in marketing.  Along side her academic career, she is also the Vice President of the Women In Business Society (WBS) as well as being an active member in the Student Leader Advisory Board (SLAB). Christine also works at the University holding a job at the IT Help Desk. In her free time she likes to spend time with family, read a good book, and relax by the beach. Upon graduating, she aspires to work for a "Go Green" company and move to New Zealand to follow her career while achieving her MBA.

Brian is a senior double majoring in Finance and Financial Services. He is currently an active member of the Finance and Investment Society and the Filipino Student Association. Outside of UNF, Brian is involved with the community service efforts of ImpactJAX and the Jacksonville Jaycee’s. He is currently interning at UBS Financial Services. During his free time, Brian enjoys visiting new restaurants with his significant other and spending quality time with friends and family. Upon graduating in the Summer of 2016, he expects to sit for the Series 7 & 66 exams and complete the coursework requirement for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) exam.

Zack is a Senior majoring in Finance and minoring in Economics. He is a member of the Osprey Volunteer Club, Economics Society, and the Finance and Investment Society. He is originally from Cherry Hill, NJ where he spent his first two years of college playing D1 baseball at NJIT. In his free time, he likes traveling, fishing, going to the beach, and spending time with family and friends. Upon graduating in December 2016, Zack plans on obtaining his MBA and working in the finance industry.

Taylor is junior pursing a double major in marketing and management.  She is an active member of the Student Conduct Board at the University of North Florida. Taylor is the social media coordinator for the women in business society.  During the summer of 2014, she completed an internship with Campus Special and sold over $20,000 in revenue. She does an ample amount of community service through her title Miss Jacksonville USA 2016 by motivating students in the community to set and achieve personal goals. Taylor is a member of College Leadership Florida where she represents UNF at different events throughout Florida.  Although her focus is with the Coggin College of Business, she seeks a career in Public Relations and Communications.  She also hosts her own talk show to help uplift women with confidence.  Upon graduation Taylor seeks to own her own production and marketing firm where she can thrive in creativity while maintaining her position in the corporate business world.

Becky is double majoring in International business and Management. She is a current Junior expected to graduate Spring of 2017. Becky is currently an executive board member of the Women in Business society, the Coggin Mentorship program and the Coggin Study Abroad Program. She has had three years of managerial experience as a General Manager for a small business. After graduation, Becky plans to continue her education and obtain her Masters degree with UNF. After finishing school she aspires to work outside of the United States. When Becky is not at school she enjoys spending time with family and traveling.

Sally-Ann is a sophomore at the Coggin Business School where she majors in Economics. Although born in London, she grew up in Ghana where she developed her passion for social and economic development and private enterprise, especially in third world countries. After high school, she began an NGO called Change100 with her friends in Ghana, through which they embarked on various developmental projects in Accra which included mentoring juvenile home inmates and setting up a sanitation system for a public high school. Sally-Ann is a recipient of the Martin Luther King Junior Scholarship at UNF, and is a member of Women in Business Society and the Coggin Mentor Program. She is an avid reader and loves to tutor Calculus. Her hobbies include traveling, sharing ideas with people, and photography-which she just recently began. She aspires to be a successful economist and entrepreneur.
