Facility Closures & Events
While the Aquatic Center is operational year-round, many schedules like our hours of operation, special events, and lap lane availability are published on a semester basis in coordination with the university’s semester schedule. Below you will find these and related schedules for the current semester.
Closures
Schedule 2013
These are key dates of closures or special activities that may affect the operating hours of the UNF Aquatic Center for the posted semester. In the event that non-scheduled or unanticipated events occur, as much advanced notice will be made as possible. Notices will be posted as follows: in writing on the facility front door, as a recorded message on the main phone, on the website homepage, on the UNF Aquatic Center Facebook group. Swimming lesson related dates and reminders can be found on the Swim Lessons web page. * These dates are tentative and will be updated at a future date.
The Aquatic Center is on a modified schedule for special events and facility maintenance during the week of UNF Spring Break:
Community and Jaxpro may swim during the open swim evening hours.
- Closed Saturday May 25 – Monday May 27 for Memorial Day Weekend
Closed Saturday May 25 – Monday May 27 for Memorial Day Weekend - Closed Saturday June 8 – Sunday June 9 for a large event
- Closed Thursday July 4 in observance of Independence Day
- Tentative combination of closed and modified hours for August 11 – 25.
- Closed Saturday August 31 – Monday September 2 for Labor Day Weekend
- Closed Monday November 11 for Veteran’s Day
- Closed Thursday November 28 – Sunday December 1
- Tentative combination of closed and modified hours for December 15 – January 2.

The Traffic on campus may be busy during these times. Lot 34 behind the arena will be closed from 7am-8pm each day that a graduation is scheduled.

Lane Availability
This schedule of lane availability is updated each semester to reflect the general lane availability based on groups and activities with reserved space. In general, the opening hours from 6 am – early afternoon on weekdays and Saturday & Sunday afternoons are the best times to swim with minimal need to share a lap lane. Year-round, the evening hours of 5 – 7:15 pm are the peak hours during which pool programming is high and minimal lanes are available for “open” swim
