Goal 1: Advance the recruitment of academically ready and culturally diverse students and set occasions for their success.

Action 1.1: Continue Academic Roadmaps implementation and adoption.

3 of 5 college roadmaps (BCH, CCB and CCEC) are completely built and in a maintenance status COEHS is 80% complete COAS is 90% complete Current Communication: Continuous feedback from users, and submit ADR’s as needed to enhance the roadmap computer application. Students with active roadmaps are sent an email from the roadmaps@unf.edu email address every semester, since Go Live in fall 2009. The email explains how to access their map and encourages them to consult with their academic advisor
Action 1.2: Recruit graduate students in line with institutional priorities, diversity enhancement, and, where applicable, new programmatic entry standards

In 2009-10, we will focus our efforts in this same way and to the greatest extent our resources will allow.
Action 1.3: Continue to develop initiatives in areas of advising to increase university retention and graduation rates and begin to set targets

Undergraduate Studies has been authorized to search for a new position of Retention Director, with an anticipated start date for this person in the winter of 2010.

During the 2009-10 academic year, the CAPP team will participate in the review of the online catalog and recommend a series of navigational adjustments. Banner Upgrade: During fall 2009, the CAPP enhancements will be included in Banner 8.2. The CAPP team will be instrumental in determining if the software is functioning appropriately. The CAPP team will be providing SunGard via the CAPP Users Groupd with input on the prioritization of RPEs and defects for upcoming releases.
Action 1.4: Develop first-year programming to facilitate the transition, integration, and engagement of freshmen students

First annual New Student Convocation is scheduled for fall 2010

Goal 2: Advance the scope and quality of academic programs in a manner consistent with the mission and resources of the university.

Action 2.1: Monitor as appropriate new and existing undergraduate and graduate programs in conjunction with the program review and strategic planning processes

We continue to monitor enrollment trends among all graduate degree programs and tracks within those programs.

The strategic plans, ALC's and GLO's of the appropriate departments and programs will reflect steps to be taken in light of the program review process.
Action 2.2: Continue Quality Enhancement Plan implementation; consider Carnegie classificaiton of Engaged Institution

UNF will submit an application to Carnegie for the Engaged Institution classification in the fall of 2010

The ASSET (Assessment and Strategic Planning software committee) is reviewing SP and Assessment software products to implement at UNF

At the present time, we await the arrival of UNF’s new Executive Director for Assessment; her expertise will provide an occasion for moving to the next level of sophistication in our assessment efforts.

The ALC's and GLO's could be strengthened further and a thorough review by the incoming Executive Director for Assessment will be instrumental.
Action 2.3: Initiate process of student learning outcomes testing as required by the Voluntary System of Accountability using ETS

A revised QEP is being produced to address the two recommendations provided by SACS. This new document will be submitted to SACS by July 13, 2009. The implementation activites will begin fall 2009.
Action 2.4: Implement University Strategic Plan, establishing initial set of benchmarks

University Strategic Planning Committee established peer-aspirants as well as benchmarks to support strategic budgeting.

Goal 3: Advance the diversification and scholarly engagement of the faculty.

Action 3.1: Develop, propose, and implement strategies for enhancing the diversity of the faculty profile

Working with EOP, AA is developing a budget incentive plan for increasing diversity among faculty.
Action 3.2: Increase external research funding

Through strategies and support from ORSP, we will provide more faculty opportunity and seed grant money when possible.
Action 3.3: Support alternative practices for teaching and scholarship such as distance learning and applied research

The Provost created a Distance Learning task force to study the budget needs to increase our online learning opportunities. At the same time, UNF put forward a University Workplan that included a technology fee. This fee will be used to support the growth and enhancement to our distance learning course offerings.

With the resources available, our faculty expertise in online learning will increase and DL courses should be of higher quality

Goal 4: Advance community outreach and partners.

Action 4.1: Develop initiatives designed to advance the goals of the university's QEP through the Center for Community Based Learning

Academic Affairs development grants included a submission category "CBL"
