The Provost charged the committee with drafting recommendations targeting the goals of increased applications and more effective recruitment of diverse faculty; mentorship of ethnically/racially under-represented faculty; and the mentorship of ethnically/racially under-represented students. The Provost noted that this will be an ongoing initiative with no time constraints.

The talk will be held in the University Gallery (on the first floor of Founders Hall, Building Two) on Thursday, April 10, starting at 7:00pm. The Diversity Dialogue Never Ends, But It May Get Easier by Dina Horwedel, May 9, 2007 Sister Mentors Inside Higher Ed, March 27, 2007 In April 2008, President Delaney endorsed the advancement from the Provost’s Task Force on Diversity to the University’s Commission on Diversity. While it will continue to advance the recruitment and retention of a diverse faculty, [the Commission] will begin to focus moreof its attention on the ways in which diversity, as a concept and as a lived reality, can be incorporated into the curriculum and into the everyday experience of the UNF community.
